  1. Haha lol---now that is a good song (jk). But the Black Eyed Peas are a good band though.
  2. It might just be built up frustration from over the years because various Phantom fans saying Phantom owns all or Phantom will win this year. All I was trying to show is the statistic possibility that PR will not win. Not to say they dont have a possibility to do it. That is an opinion that they have had great shows. It is also an opinion that they will win. As it is an opinion that BD will win. We are entitled to our opinions, which is a god-given freedom. Once again, just trying to show the stats throughout the years. Statistics can be used both ways . PR is a good corps...no doubt about it. I understand your hoping that they win and everything...no reason to be poopy pants that I spent time looking for things that tried to show something opposite to other's opinion. Ahhh...I miss these arguements. But hey...lets just wait 13 days until Finals. Thats plenty of time for things to change.
  3. Dont know... Well...in Division 1-A football there are well over 120 teams. Plus each team is ranked by the BCS system. There is much controversy over this system. Included in the system is various writers who choose a team. Thus making room for biased placements. I am Texas fan--if you want to see my hat (I've had it for well over 6 years--pretty dirty), I will let you to prove that I was a fan before the championship. Anyways---Texas owns anyone...voted this past year as one of the best athletic departments of the past 10 years . So it was an accumulation of excellence...not just a one hit wonder (*cough* Phantom). So what do you call Rhapsody in Blue last year? And if "jazz bounce" works to win championships (BD with 11, Cavs with 6), then why stop? Stats are a way of showing who has the most likely chance of succeeding. Phantom show might be amazing in your eyes, not in others. Ok...will do! Ok... I know its possible for PR to beat BD...heck it happened last year. All I am trying to point out the likelyhood of BD beating PR.
  4. Note to Phantom fans--- Statistically...they most likely will not win a championship this year. Here are the reasons why: Rule of Six: It states that the Blue Devils from Concord, California have won the championship in '76, '86, and '96. All signs points to another championship since this is 2006 ('06). Do I have to go on...there is hardly any chance that the PR is going to beat BD this year. Especially with the Cavs in the mix. The Cavaliers has not placed outside of 2nd since the turn of the century. Now that was a long rant.
  5. If Phantom wins... Oh wait......that will not! Hahahahahaaaaa I can not believe that once the Blue Devils lost to the Cavs once, that everyone forgets about them. They are within .025 of them. PR is at least over a point away.
  6. Finals started about 7:00 pm Central Time. Results should be in about 11ish.

  9. If he was talking about PR, then why did he quote my statement about the Blue Devils? Plus, why would he dog his favorite corps? Just my thoughts...
  10. Lets just all keep in mind (before anything gets out of hand) that these are personal opinions. With that said...in '04 I thought that Cedar Park should have won. In a close second-LD Bell. In third place--Haltom. But I am still sticking to my "fearless" predictions for this year.
  11. Agreed! So what happens if the guard won their caption by .2 over the Cavs and .7 over PR (at SA)? AND they capture the entire visual caption by .15 over the Cavs and 1.4 over PR (at SA)? Just showing you the statistics. Because they disagree with you.
  12. Ummm.... *cough* maybe you could use the APD section of the DCI website.
  13. PM me your email and I can supply you a copy of the song.
  14. Don't you mean in the top 6?
  15. The Godfather, Part Blue is amazing too! Although I like BD '96 (Gangsta Chronicles) and '89 BD. But Phantom's show strike me as a loud show (too much loud and not enough dynamics). They do have a good guard though!
  16. My score card is updated now!

  18. I voted for The Simpsons---here are my reasons: 1) They came out in the mid 80s. Thus giving more exposure to different generations and allowing for more viewership. 2) Family Guy went on hiatus for quite some time. Yes--if you can get your hands on the very first episode, you will notice that for its time it was very vulgar. Hence the executive producers and such tried another stab at it this previous year and it worked for them. 3) I personally like how The Simpsons can satirize an event when you least expect it. Like when the view is centered around Homer, you can take your eyes off him and find a sign that says "You are Weird" or something like that. Hands down one of the best comedies ever is the Simpsons. Although Family Guy is a close second.
  19. August 14 to August19 9am to 9pm Dont worry...its college marching band camp.
  20. That is an opinion-as per you are entitled to it. There are reasons as to why UIL and BOA are different. Hence why Reagan places where they do in each respective circuit. Yes Reagan had a good show that year in BOA standards, but by UIL they were what place they received. As for the boring parts---how can you call LD Bell, Cedar Park, and Winston Churchill's shows boring? LD Bell was clean visually to the max, Cedar Park was emotional in the ballad of Jupiter (you should listen to it ), and Winston Churchill's guard is amazing. But like I said, you are entitled to an opinion. That is my outake on the matter.
  21. Crown Article In the link there is a video to watch. For yet another day, the Carolina Crown are practicing their routine. Today at City View High School, they are preparing for tonight's Rumble in the Falls. "A lot of fine details we have to get better at and get consistent so we can do everything right for the whole 11 minutes," Bob Medworth said about the practice session. Practicing in the 100 degree heat is one thing, but doing it on only three hours of sleep in a sleeping bag on a gymnasium floor is another. The team got to City View at 5:00 a.m. today, and this is just one of several destinations. "They've been up to New York and Rhode Island through Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, down Louisiana and to Texas. We're headed to Arkansas tonight," Medworth explains. Mostly incoming and current college students make up the 128 person drum and bugle core. 127 are from the United States. "Everything is a lot bigger in America so the crowds and the activity is a lot larger over here," Steve Wright said. Wright is from Newburry, England, which is an hour west of London and much cooler than Texas. "When we've been out a bit further south and a bit further west its been pretty brutal and sort of around 110," he said.
  22. Like I said: Just because a band has a mediocre marching season does not mean you can count them out. Expect bands like Spring and Cedar Park to come back. They received both 5th and 7th respectively at the State Honor Band competition. Both have won championships in multiple competitions. Expect them to use their past and current successes to bring them back. That is my take on it.

  24. Even though we cant exactly predict anything (that is the nature of the beast that we like to call marching band). These are the bands I think will be successful for the upcoming year (selected on repertoires that I know of, past successes, and pure imagination): In no particular order Top Ten-UIL Haltom L.D. Bell Cedar Park Langham Creek Churchill Duncanville The Woodlands Ronald Reagan James Bowie Brazoswood Top 12-BOA Churchill The Woodlands Brazoswood James Bowie Cedar Park L.D. Bell Richland Marcus Ronald Reagan SFA Westfield Haltom
