Ok, now that everyone has moved in and dust has settled, summer school, finances and the like have opened up a few opportunities for new members to join Memphis Sound. We are holding everydays in Dallas all this week and will be moving to Austin for the next 2 weeks, then back to Dallas a few days before the 2009 Tour kicks off. We are looking to fill the following vacancies (we have already accepted some videotapes on a few of these positions, so please email your interest asap - Director@memphisdrumcorps.org ) 1 Mallet Player (maybe, this could be filled now) 3 Cymbals (since we just added this back in) 1 Snare (if we decide to expand to 6, the 5 we have are rocking though) 1 Lead Trumpet 1 3rd Trumpet 1 2nd Mello 1 Lead baritones 1 2nd 2 Euphs 4 Colorguard Memphis Sound will be in both the Dallas and Denton DCI show for 2009, and are working toward moving to World Class by 2012 under our new name, which will be revealed very soon

This weekend is the first full Dallas area camp for Memphis Sound, the 2007 DCI Division III World Champion/2008 Open Class Finalist. Students are coming from 5 states to audition for the first time, or as a call back from previous audition sites/video tapes. The first full camp for Memphis Sound in Dallas is Jan 23-25th. Satelite Auditions are almost done, just one more date in St Louis, MO, and videotape auditions. You can still audition at camp, though percussionists are encouraged to audition via videotape before hand due to numbers of auditionees
