So we got Poteet, Friendswood, Hendrickson, and Dripping Springs most likely making finals. Who is going to take the rest of the spots? Whats the story on Forney? And with a great finish in honor band I Expect Wakeland to be in finals.

Yeah I got to see it. I really like the show design. Its really abstract. And you guys always have a full rich sound. I really enjoyed it. Kudos on making the jump from 4th to 1st aswell.

yes they were first in prelims. dripping springs was 2nd and hendrickson 3rd in prelims.

How can you not have the entire show on the field this late in the season?

This contest is pretty hard to call. Hendrickson and Dripping Springs are locks for state (granted nothing happens e.g. disqualification). The other two spots are pretty difficult to say. There are plenty of bands that have the ability to go to state. Which ones want it more? Im thinking the last two spots are going to go up to 2 of these 5: McCallum, Hays, Lake Travis, Steele, or Vandergrift. This is going to be one interesting day. bring on the sound.

I was so mad i didn't get to see this show in finals at Westlake. Hendrickson always has really cool show design.

If its such a great show why do you care what people think about it? Let the program make its own hype. If people like your programs product they will comment on it. This is just a little tacky and if you don't want people thinking poorly of your band I would try to get rid of this thread. Hendrickson is a great program. Yall don't need something like this to tarnish yalls rep.

Dripping Springs-Moments In Crime: Chase, Capture, Escape. The Music Of Sergei Rachmaninoff. This show is based on a jewel robbery. the guard(thiefs) steal the Head Drum Major's Pink Plumed Shako(Jewel). Police sirons lead into a dark low brass heavy intro. The juxtaposition between low dark brass and high woodwind accents sets a forboding tone through the opener. The ballad a nice smooth fusion of warm woodwind sounds with the Mellophone and Euphonium. A nice Euphonium solo. The band comes together on the front side line reprising the main melody. They seperate and start their closer, the escape of the bad guy. Pointed Sharp sounds from the intire band. With a cool follow the leader. In the end the band reprising the opener plays the first phrase of the show while marching backfield into a wedge as the "thief" runs out of the stadium with the shako.

They put on one heck of a show. they are awsome marchers and players and they execute their drill near perfectly. all around they had an awsome show in my opinion. Cedar Park and Bowie always bring the sound. Scheherezade... OH YA! Nailed it. It was a great day in all and congrats to everyone who made finals.

Im really interested to see how Hendrickson and Dripping Springs stack up against each other. Preview of Area D. I also can't wait to hear Cedar Park do Scheherezade. I saw a video of their show pretty early in the season and that first statement is pretty HUGE. They also stayed pretty true to the original score which I like alot. And I hear Bowie is doing killer this year. It's going to be a pretty wicked day.

Yes Drpping Springs will be attending. Finding out that Cedar Park is doing Scheherazade is really sweet. I cant wait to hear some low brass power. Im interested to hear their take on it.
