Just saw a video of Berkner, they do sound REALLY good, not top music at BOA, but maybe a shot at top 4 or 5.

I have no idea what's going to happen after area weekend, therefore waffles.

Has anybody EVER done that kind of stuff on that scale? That's REALLY cool. Oh, the band is good too.

There's always a first time. Correct me if I am wrong, but did Marcus make even state finals before 2006? They won that year as well. I think the reason for that with Berkner is the the only video out there is from BOA Denton which is nothing like where they are now I suppose.

I think you guys deserved to advance regardless of what happened, thanks for the clarification on placements! Amazing show you should all be proud of! Not sure how...a certain band jumped up so far, you guys should have been in their place.

I'm just going off of what I was told by someone who saw the sheets. Not what I saw or heard.

Rowlett, are we forgetting they beat Coppell in prelims and finals, beat Duncanville in finals, AND tied Berker in finals? (tie breaker went Berkner's way) I would count them in for finals contention.

THIS. And I know some people will disagree, but going first probably put the nail in the coffin, in a day of bands that good and with them being so spread out, the judges had NO comparison. I still think RR will go knock down the doors of the Alamodome for BOA SA. DON'T STOP!!! The show is the best Round Rock one EVER in my opinion.

Here's what I was told by someone that was there, They were ranked 2nd place in prelims after a phenomenal performance. Apparently in finals they had a less than stellar performance and dropped to 6th. Area A's been really bad about NEVER releasing recaps, so unless you know a director or member, we likely won't see that breakdown, ever.

The judges did not simply prefer one type of show over another, one performed better in their eyes than another. Simple as that.

Really like McKinney Boyd's show, fun!

Betting 100% of Round Rock was performing very first. Maybe not 100%, but I bet if they had gone later or in the middle of the day, it would have been A LOT different.

My thoughts. Keller - Going SOLEY off of history here, haven't seen any videos this year. Timber Creek - Musically, top 3 for sure, visual not too far behind though, I think they'll probably advance beating 4A state finalist Sherman a week or two ago sure was impressive. Keller Central - They've had a GREAT season so far, the best I've seen them, I think they'll definitely compete for a state spot. After this it gets fuzzy, the following bands all have a shot at the last state spot or two: El Paso Coronado, Midland High, and Fossil Ridge. My other finalists: El Paso Americas Northwest 2 wild cards after this, not sure. Lots of new faces this year, due to El Paso Hanks, Saginaw, Denton Guyer, Lubbock Monterey, Lubbock, and Amarillo High ALL moving down to 4A, that's going to make for a VERY tough contest next year, but we'll talk about that then.

Will for sure give some thoughts tonight when I get home.

Regardless of where Cedar Ridge places, I just watched a video, and WOW. That's a powerful show, one of my favorites of the season for sure!

I know they aren't going too early, but Lubbock Monterrey is making quite the journey, got to be at least 8 or 9 hours by bus.
