It's all good, I just knew they were at 5A state last year as well as 4A in 09.

Did Saginaw move back down to 4A?, was under the impression they were still 5A.

2011 Canyon High School: La Fiesta Mexicana

We're farther ahead of any bands in our directors history, including the 3 state finalists in 02, 04, and 06. WE'RE BACK!

4th, not bad for our fist entry in 4A.

I know we made it past Region and the Area stuff is next week on wednsday.

If they use the music that's featured in the video, wow. That's some amazing music.

This is the first time I've been in band and we have submitted for honor band, so if someone could kinda take me through the process, that'd be great.

Ride is great fun, sure everyone plays it, but it's just downright fun to play.

Those are some great selections, will be interesting to see how it's woven into the theme.

Well Canton is 3A.

Actualy Canton was 02, 04, 06. I know because we were right behind them every time. :/

Everybody is going to have different opinions on the show, some are going to like it, some aren't. Some are going to think it is challenging, some aren't. Some are going to blame it on the props and God knows what else. They are obviously "good" enough to win 3 straight state titles and multiple BOA events, because they design their shows to do well. Coming from a school in the Panhandle, I would give anything for our band to be that good, sorry, but this is just a stupid thread. I for one LOVED this show, they executed and designed a show good enough to win state and The San Antonio Super Regional, if that's not good, I don't know what the heck is.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited. I know Newman Smith did it in 09 and Canton did it this year, which were both GREAT shows that placed well at state. Maybe this will be the one that sends us to 4A state.

I know Marching season is 7-8 months away, but we have already started looking at shows. The one in mind: 2011-2012 Canyon High School Soaring Pride Band La Fiesta Mexicana Prelude and Aztec Dance Mass Carnival What is your school doing?

And to get back on topic, I definitely think that Cedar Park could be the next 4A dynasty, if they stay where they are quality wise.

And the Canyon I am refering to is the one in the Panhandle.

Boswell, I can give it to them as well. And yes you are the only one that gives any love to Canyon. Thanks you. We could MAYBE slip into state next year, it all depends on how many bands show up at Area. If there were at least 20, we could maybe pull a 4th place at Area next year if we keep improving in the strides we have last 2 years. We are just gonna have to pop into that top 5. :/ (We've already started planning next year, and it's sounding pretty good thus far)
