Also, where is L.D. BELL???? What ever happened to them? Did they drop doing BOA after winning state last year? They have pretty good shows that are quality BOA and quality U.I.L. Hope to see them at state next year! -

THE ECHO! WTF did you hear that! the sound system screwed up in the pre-show, but technically that is not really "judged" (it freaked out all the freshman who are the first to march (dumb drill)). It was basically 260 people or so with a big heads thinking it would be automatically given into finals. A HUGE lesson was learned from that. Also tempos dragged...184 became like 174 and 174 was like 168. It wasn't that bad of a performance, musically not too bad, but after hearing the bands that went to finals! WOW! some of these bands over BOAed themselves. But I have to agree with Nick, after playing profanation in concert season, I wouldn't have been able to guess what was going on! Churchill should have totaly been higher and same with richland! Richland kept my attention the entire time unlike Bowie. Churchill though, I can't get over how great of a show and how poor of a score! Oh and spring was there, but didn't make finals, their truck was leaving with ours:( -

All I have to say is I LOVED CHURCHILL!!! AMAZING SHOW AND GUARD! IF anyone saw Mark Sloan having a fit durring te show it was insane! He couldn't stop jumping up and down. But I have to say that Judging was VERY interesting these past two days! -
Definatly an R-13. I have had mine since 7th grade and the only repairs on it if you take great care is pad changes, plus a great sound. Also as far as mouthpeices go I recommend a Robert Scott Mouthpeice. Reeds: Vandoren Rue Lupics(sp?) they are such amazing reeds. They are the newest by Vandoren and sound great esp for Texas. As far as jazz..Get as many great jazz books because you dont become a jazz player over night. The first chair clarinet at my school has been practicing jazz since her freshman year and finally as a Junior last year she was able to get all the solos from Benny Goodman's sing, sing, sing. And if you dont know who Benny Goodman is...then you should be one ashamed clarinet player!

I really enjoyed RR show, but CP had an awesome show and I don't understand why everyone is kinda putting it down? Like out directors and other schools keep randting about how much harder their show is and its 110pages of drill!!! That's a lot to learn! I think CP keeps putting out impressive shows. I still love their version of the Plantets from last year! Great shwow! -

OO I wasn't saying hate...but a little competition is fun:) Like the other schools we play...well... I am not going to open my mouth -
HAHAHA!!! lol...I have heard that joke many times!
-
So just bc our school football team doesn't play other schools with the main powerhouse bands. I was just wondering how the halftime showes were or stand tune wars were like.... for example churchill and Reagen, if they play one another? just a thought.
-
ya know...not everyone is perfect. It's one little 2. Plus, look at what they have won at state contests so far...how many times has georgetown medaled at state in the last 4-5 years? Plus they are one of the youngest schools in TX to win state(or one of them) so what if it was when they were 4A...they still have gold medals!

Marcus has an awesome drum line. I think they always win first at the Belton contest??? please correct me if I am wrong. CP isn't going to Arlington so that they get a weekend off from contest. They did the same thing last year. They have attended some local contests such as Westlake which they one first at this past weekend! 2 years in a row! -
OOO Charter bus trips.....HMM I must say....I don't remember the number of people that took sleeping pills going to and from Indianna/Chicago. Those were some good times. Going to contests isn't so bad. I think the most I have been on a bus going to contest is like 3 hours to Rice or Huntsville. Usually people bring Coloring books(totaly did that going to Indy) ipods etc. I know we banned DVD players bc of some inapropriate use....*cough* hmmm. Yeah. Bus trips.
