  1. I disagree, I like Canton in finals to come out on top with Argyle to fall from 1st in prelims to 2nd.(Not a big fall, but still a fall)
  2. it's fun. We did it in Water World, Vesuvius(or how ever it's spelled) and profination. It is easy to get the hang of once you catch the patterns
  3. 7/8 isn't to bad to march in, it just takes many hours of practice to get the hang of
  4. Some factors are the Woodlands are a BOA style band, which doesn't rank well with UIL. Now another is the judges, and all it takes is 1 judge to mess up the rankings. Another thing is look at the bands that people have in finals. It doesn't matter if they are playing "fan" music or old school music. The schools that march clean at a slow tempo and play clean will always out place the fast pace semi-clean music and drill, because thats how the UIL works. BOA is a different beast that rewards to a degree the harder drill and music with visuals. I like the Woodlands and hope they do well, and I look forward to seeing them perform as I do wish the same to all the schools.
  5. Someone has learned a life lesson
  6. OKay I still don't see why people like this show so much. I respect your opinion, but it just doesn't do anything for me and some other people.(they don't want to take any heat like I will) I like Coppell, but not this show. The drill is good, but not great, the music is typical Coppell, and nothing really wows me about it. But hey thats why I'm not a judge......Yet
  7. And who knows what would have happened in finals. We may have had X-mas in November !!Or even Garland High who I'm sure nobody would believe was good coming into this year including me.
  8. Hmm well, as a fan if I paid to see a contest start early, I want my dollars worth and why not let the kids perform again. Most of them this is their last marching show
  9. Hey anything can happen, just hope the judges aren't all over the page again
  10. The worst of the post come after the student performs when they are upset and angry. Sometimes kids, it's better if you sleep on the result and let it breathe for a bit before you rant about it. It will allow sometime for it to sink in, and also let you reflect on what an outstanding job you did just to be named to area, and trust me those of us who have come up short of a goal were P/O. I speak from 2003 state when only 7 4A bands went to finals and we tied for 7th and were left out. We have all come across this at some point, and the best thing to do is let it breathe, besides I think the best thing that ever happened was not making finals, b/c results the next year, and state year would reflect that. Let it breathe!!! From what I can tell from videos, I would have been the happiest fan if I could have just watched this blood bath known as Area E live b/c all the schools were fantastic. Besides don't be disrespect your director and school by saying another school shouldn't be there. You have go to let it go and move on.
  11. I don't mind the cheering, but some times it just gets annoying...
  12. Their is a city pride factor when sending a local school to state/area. Some cities just can't afford to send the band to state every year. The current way allows for more schools to attend area and state so more kids get to have the experience.
  13. You would think that, but the state judges do some silly things.
  14. Stop crying!! It is what it is so deal with it, they will redue the lines and maybe the areas will be different, but untill then stop crying about it and deal with it.
  15. In Class 3A in order for top 3: Canton-1 Argyle-2 Wills Point-3 And now for class 5A top 10 in order: 1-Marcus 2-Duncanville 3-LD Bell 4-Reagan 5-Berkner 6-Bowie 7-The Woodlands 8-Coppell 9-Langham Creek 10-Harlingen (It's time) 3 on the Bubble Hebron Spring Keller Okay that was harder than I had thought
  16. Oh baby, let the predictions begin now that we have every band that will be there. I want a good clean fight, but come out swinging
  17. You never know..It's a new year, or else Churchhill would be on the list
  18. As soon as I see area G, I can finish my top 10 in order!!!
  19. I love Duncanville's music, but thats me. Rowlett's opener is great but gets dull to me after that, but it's still a great band. We will never know if Rowlett would have been 1st in finals, but we can always guess
  20. I could ask this with a ton of bad words, but I just want to know how, and why. That is one I never saw coming
  21. No Churchhill in state?!?!?!?!?! Wow
  22. Thats twice Sachse has played Xmas music, and each time I was upset because it was so boring. Clean, but boring
