Kid? well I guess if your older than me I'm a kid.(22yrs old)

Well I will be honest, I have never been to a BOA contest untill this year, so all my out of state schools have been under the UIL format. And thats cool that Carmel came and kicked our butt in our state, but who won GN that year? Again sorry, I have only started watching and understanding BOA this year so its not something I'm well rounded in. My wheel house is Area C, and 4A/5A state

I'm just using my experience with out of state schools. They seem to not place well here for some reason, but I do think if the young adults and teens are happy, that they just performed the best they could on that day then that was great day and no result should take that away from the students. Plus its always fun when a school from another state comes here, because as a fan and now a parent I always stand up and clap for those students that came to TEXAS to compete with our schools. EX: Plano East a few years ago the school from Arkansas came and recieved the biggest applause the entire day/night from all the fans, and even us, the bands they were going up against, because we enjoyed seeing a band come so far and play the best they could on that day

I would hate to be those kids from (LA) coming here and finishing last. Just goes to show the best bands are from Texas
-
I wouldn't count on that, I know something that will happen either at the end of this year or next year that will change the land scape of 4A Area C and maybe even State. When I drop this bomb shell, everyone will be either surprised or like me confused as to what to think. As a former Poteet Pirate Band member I don't know what to think about it. Does anyone have Desoto Results?

Same here, I start student teaching in the spring and will find a high school that wants my skills as soon as I graduate. These kids do need a kick in the pants, but should lay the ground rules on proper behavior on this site. I'm with you and will start monday when I attend Forney High School for a clinic -
Good luck today to all the bands, while these performers put on their shows, I will be busy blowing my face off at the fair while Baylor gets stomped!!!Wreck'em TECH!!!! Fair Food+Beer+Baylor losing=Me very happy

I agree, but atleast in Area C we get Lufkin and Longview, although Kingwood was always fantastic to see. It will happen this year I can feel it -

I have yet to see Berkner this year, but IF Area C takes 4, I think Rowlett misses out again, and North Mesquite takes the last state spot. Why: North seems to have come over extreme odds, almost canning the program to amazingly clean drill, and fantastic playing and visuals. The drumline is a little messy, and guard needs to click better, but they have time to make that happen. Rowlett seemed to lack that power, and that "wow" effect this year. The music the band is playing comes across as a little to difficult, and may still be dirty come area finals. I like both of these schools, and would be awsome if "C" took 5, but 4 would be a safe bet, and I have North for coming out of the shadows and grabbing that last spot -

You were talking pure state, I just want to hear something bold. It can be any contest with any school, not state predictions weeks before area. This can be ANYTHING, not just state. -

I want to hear from the TxBand world your bold predictions for this year! It can be any class 1A to 5A, State or BOA it doesn't matter, I just want to here some bold predictions. Ex: Maybe a school who has never been to state making finals, or a 1st time GN band. Dig deep and think hard, because we all have a "dark horse" and this would be a place to bring it up and explain "WHY" for your BOLD prediction. Saying Bell, Marcus, Coppell, Duncanville, etc will make or win state is NOT bold. Avon to GN doesn't work either!! And don't put yourschool either!!! -
Quick Question

I know one of the bands in the 2007 4A State year did, don't remember the school, but they had trees in the back and color guard acted like bats, or fairies or something. Wanna say it was one of the Keller schools, but don't hold me to that -

Coppell looks like the early winner, but I wouldn't look past Colleyville for an upset. -

Was just an example. But for some reason the Richland kid thinks that whats posted is whats set in stone, when they still have bands waiting on area results to see what they do next. by the way I love PESH, they always have a great drumline, and play really good music. Best show IMO was 2002-2003. Just everyone chill out for a few weeks and wait and see -

No one worry, when the dust settles from the area contest, those who missed out on state, will attend if they are within a reasonable range to the contest. Ex: Don't expect Pflugerville to show up if they miss state Ex2: Plano East or Lake Highlands may decide to attend if they miss out
