Enough to make state difficult in both 3A and 5A

Below that is the official link on that page, when it's updated..... down the page is where the link will be when it gets posted I believe all of Area A is finished, and if so I'll leave that to our lone Area A man to do that one.... Can't beat that, thats a deal especially for those who can't make it to San Antonio to enjoy their school/kid perform.

Area C could use a little bit of a shake up from what is the norm there.. Granted I don't live in Sunnyvale anymore I moved to San Antonio, but I still follow all those bands, and I know a little bit of a shake up would open up a fun discussion on here as to WHY this band didn't make it, and WHO is a "Lock" at state. But one can only dream because the top 4 at Area C have been that way for some time and I don't see it changing just yet. (But it's Fall in Texas, anything can happen)

I really like this contest, good point to see where everyone is...Plus we all know nothing is for sure, one bad run during finals could flip who finishes where at this contest

Top 2 spots should be a fun one to watch...Also a good point to see where Canton and Argyle are with each other.

Another solid contest for DMI, is it the same time as previous seasons, so that those schools that miss out on state can attend? I always liked that DMI scheduled the contest that way

Mesquite Poteet will be making a return to DMI after going M.I.A. from here and going to Frisco instead the past couple of years. Kinda strange that they stopped for why they stopped, I always enjoyed DMI as a student and fan, always top bands which made competing fun, and I always enjoyed listening to top bands perform here.

I tried and failed on my quest to find a schedule for the contest. I know Mesquite Poteet is attending but other than that I have no idea. If anyone can find the schedule of bands and make a prediction for this I would appreciate this very much. it's on 10/13/2012

Me!! I'm going to SMC.....Why?, because I live in San Antonio, and my boss said we have to even if we miss out as a program... Not to sure with Area A other than Keller Area B, I will always take Bell and Marcus, but after that I have no idea Area C, isn't as easy as it seems because the amount of schools that even go to area here is different each time and one of the power 4 has been and could be left out again. With that I'll say 4 will advance and Dville, Coppell, Rowlett, and Berkner will all go again. I still hold out hope that Garland can spoil this one day, and that both Mesquite, and North Mesquite will one day attend state again at the same time like many years ago. Area D, man I have no idea I like so many bands here I can't pick who would get left out Area E, the only one I wil give my nod to is Langham Creek, and thats just based on history Area F, I have always liked the Woodlands and Brazoswood along with Spring but couldn't tell you after that Area G, I have no idea but if this is where Lopez is than Lopez and Harlingen

Was that school in the colors of Blue/Gold, if so I may know exactly who you're speaking of and they have been doing that ever since I was a kid

Having gone to Mesquite Poteet under Scott Coulson, where he is a top dog for UIL it was always in my head that UIL is the one true way to go about judging... That being said, after graduating and now teaching I find myself just enjoying a well played/marched show. I don't care if you brought props or not, I just like hearing well played music, and watching well marched drill... The only thing I ask for at any contest, that the judging is fair, and the bands do well performed shows. BOA or UIL I just want a solid contest... I'm not sure of the school but I know last year at state I enjoyed the patriotic show from I think the band that finished near the bottom of prelims.

Just guessing because there is a long time between now and region/area, but out of AREA C you have to say Duncanville, Rowlett, Berkner, Coppel should all advance, but their are some up and coming schools here such as Garland High, North Mesquite, Lakeview, and Sachse that if we get a Area finals this year should push for a spot....But like I said a long time, and a lot to go through just to get to that point. In 3A, you have to have Will's Point, Canton, Kaufman, Argyle, North Lamar (If still 3A)

Figures Scott would pick Ballet Sacra, The show he won state in '97 with and is still one of the best shows Poteet has ever marched...Great choice of music for that show is what got me hooked on marching band, and drove me to be a music teacher and I was in 4th grade when I saw and heard this show..(Helps that my cousin had the trumpet solos) I know from talking with Scott after I graduated (I live 3 houses down) he has always wanted to do that show again for someone.

Don't forget about the Rockwall Schools to 5A Area C.... No they may not be the bully on the block, but both Rockwall High and Heath can help seeing as they have been area finalist.. Only exception was this year with Heath getting a 2 at region, but I believe they could both advance to the area level

Sitting at the casino in Vegas and walking out with 5K from slots when all I played on was a $50 bill, then going back the following night to play poker and walking out again with 12K ($1K buy in)..... I love Vegas and I love taking its money

2nd to Cedar Park is close, because that night was just like tonight......Amazing by Cedar Park!!! Great job to everyone this was a great contest

They still are, just had a UIL rule violated and they had to forfiet state to the alternate Forney... They still did well this year, finished 2nd at Area C to Waxahachie. They also had a director change for the first time in school history, and it was the biggest two they had in Coulson, and Davis. But they will be back in 2013 and I don't expect them to ever make a mistake like this year again
