  1. Anyone going to make a prediction thing for Nationals?
  2. Hey now, Poteet didn't miss taking that gold by much that year....(I was in 8th grade that year)
  3. Couldn't just let that go?? Nobody really cares if its "recycled" let the kids have this moment without this
  4. Corey just stop, everyone is past this
  5. wouldn't count any of them out, Prelims and Finals are like 2 different contest, and 1 slip up could cost you
  6. I have hit refresh every 2sec since they called the finalist waiting on them
  7. Let Prelim score Mayhem begin!!!!!!!
  8. Looking over the results, Redwater almost came from 6th to 1st...They made it close
  9. I'm guessing that I'm the only Poteet Alum that actually agrees and thinks that the UIL got this right...
  10. Results from Area C: Prelims Finals
  11. Now I don't have to have on my Poteet show shirts or anything Poteet related to get a prime seat, nothing wrong with sitting in the sea of green, but now I guess I have to fight for my seat... I remeber the parent meetings and Coulson talking to the parents about how to act, respond, and secure seats for each other..Long time ago
  12. This is my 3rd time to go to a BOA contest and when I saw Air Academy that got me pumped to be at Saturdays prelims and then finals. The dome better ring from all the yelling and clapping for these students before and after they perform.
  13. So lets look at what this means for Poteet: For the first time since the early 90's they miss state For the first time in forever they don't win area First time the school had someone other than Scott Coulson and Rick Davis leading them I bet those kids are as crushed (if not more) as we were in 2003. Right Corey, or should I say TheKingCMK? So history was made, but not on the side of the page I bet they wish it was on, good luck to everyone who advanced I look forward to a very well played and marched contest in the dome
  14. I would like to chime in just for sec on this.... People can sit here and cry about the UIL system all they want, but in the end all I want is for them to make the correct choice. I feel like they did make the correct call at the end of the day, but I to wish they had made this before area. With that all being said we can get on to what this topic is about and thats the contest. Forney has been handed what I believe is a great spot for prelims, now if they can fix those cover downs and work out a few music bugs they just may surprise a few people here, and actually take advantage of this chance. Pearce is my unknown, I love the show and the tubas but don't know how this show will do at state but I expect a great show. Waxahachie is fantastic this year. They have very little to fix and some problems are just focus issues like horns up to early and a few rips in the brass playing but nothing practice can't fix. All I have seen from Area D is on videos (Thank You for those BTW) I like Cedar Park, and Dripping Springs, I haven't seen Lake Travis or Vandy but if they came from that area they must be good. Friendswood and Dawson are going to be fantastic I really like Friendswood but anyone who can top them at area deserves some love. Area G is going behind the scenes and I think thats great because Roma is always a band to look out for and nobody is saying a word about them, Look out for Roma The only schools I have seen in area B and area A are Sherman, and Canyon and my frind from Canyon missed state this time around, and Sherman is a very good playing group.(Didn't pay attention to the marching was enjoying the music to much) As for the E bands I haven't seen or heard anything about them at all and Brenham is a former finalist in 2003. The band that I will ride as my dark horse in this contest is...............Sherman H.S. This band missed state in 09 I believe and this year they sound great. So my 10 finalist predictions in random order are: Waxahachie Cedar Park Dripping Springs Friendswood Dawson Sherman Wakeland Centennial Lake Travis Newman Smith In class 2A give me Queen City to 4peat and in 1A Shelbyville (Gotta love a city thats also on the Simpson's)
  15. No L.B. Jay in D finals?!?!?! Wow
  16. I 2nd that, I love a military band, just something about it that is just fun to watch...Maybe because we don't see to many.
  17. Justr for you sir: Waxahachie Poteet Pearce Forney The top 4 bands from prelims in that order
  18. Area C: Highland Park Poteet J.J. Pearce Rockwall Waxahachie Ennis Forney I also know the order of the top 4 from prelims
  19. I hate to break this, but I hope the best result comes from this. Mesquite Poteet has been DISQUALIFIED from Saturdays Area C contest.....The new director at Poteet messed up on his papers and instead of lying about it where nobody would have ever known, he told the truth and now Poteet is out. The school has one full day to try and get the band back into the contest..... I hope that they allow the band to compete, seeing as its something so small and he did tell the truth about it, but I don't know to much about how this works or odds, but by the time Poteet plays their football game Friday night we will know 100% if they are going to be in or out of Saturday... I will keep updating this as I get new information, but for now this is what the facts are.
  20. I wouldn't count out LBJ, Hays, Connally, Hendrickson, or Vista Ridge all are proven bands that have made state. You may be right but I wouldn't just count these schools down and out
