Dynasty in Marching band
TxRaider13 replied to longhornsax's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Define dynasty. Is it winning, or is it a program always performing at State or GN? If it's winning than yes, Marcus and Bell are the current dynasty. If you define it the other way, you have a ever lasting dynasty in the following schools: 5A Duncanville Bell Marcus Haltom Langham Creek Lopez Coppell Berkner I'm sure theirs more in this class 4A Poteet Friendswood Roma Dripping Springs Hendrickson J.J. Pearce Again more but can't think 3A Canton Argyle North Lamar Port Isabel Same thing here 2A Queen City I don't follow close enough to name anyone 1A Same Put these where you wish: Cedar Park Dickenson I would put Desoto, but the made their first 2 at Region contest. thats over 40yrs of making a 1 and able to make sweepstakes -

LOL...Nah I think I'm just going to play a country solo. Square Dance..Nice, Easy, and can show off

I can't decide on a really techy solo for my April senior credit...Any ideas for trumpet solo????? I have my slow selection already, I just need something a little quicker, doesn't have to be insane range or anything, just has to be more demanding than my slow piece.

Playoff Fun
TxRaider13 replied to longhorn2190's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Poteet use too, but ever since they went down hill in football playoffs are an after thought. This year with the team making playoffs the band is just doing the scatter drill and playing the closer of their show. Hutto did however do a fun theme show, and I hope Whitehouse does as well -

I think this was said on another forum, but this just makes me wish they would rotate GN host city every year

My first year of DCI one brass tech was a skyrider, and percussion tech was first year Glassmen. I like the low to the ground marching people in kilts, thats hot stuff. I remember 05 at the airport sitting next to a Star of Indiana group on the plane home. They had some really cool stories

C'mon UIL...

That would be hot to have a SWAC/MEAC style band at state..Got to have the goofy head gear to get full effect -
Yes to both of those You gotta love old school DCI, when you get real old school, you get the classic concert session in the middle of the show.
