"You might tear up more with the new added ending. I still can't believe they are doing a 12 minute show. Well, part of that is going to be preshow to fit under the 11 min max rule at nationals. They sound a lot better - more dynamics, playing louder, and a lot more emotional." (This came from a post under the Marcus Show) I was at their public performance last night and it was a much different show than the one presented at BOA-SA and UIL State. The music was incredible and the new drill was very effective. Last night the L D Bell Band did indeed HONOR all who will serve (the young men who took their oaths), are serving (the Marines who participated in the program and the TCU ROTC Color Gaurd) and those who have served (including at least 2 WWII era vets and numerous Vietnam era vets). Pennington Field in Bedford had a full house for this performance. Kudo's to the two young men who played Taps at the end...it was very moving. There is one last public performance before the L D Bell Band leaves for Indy: November 9 9PM Pennington Field Bedford, TX

"LD Bell used so much sound effect there were portions I could not hear the band if they were even playing." You must have been sitting fairly low...I was blasted out of my seat during prelims when I sat low but sat much higher at finals and could barely hear the sound effects.

There is a strong story line but it is also fast and has the classic Bell sound...it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up and it will require Kleenex when it is performed in its entirety.
