4 Bands coming from Area B is very unfortunate. There's a chance that one of the top dozen bands in the state won't make it.

Great point -- I have seen Haltom and they are also strong. Everyone will need to get to Carrollton Standridge early because it is going to be packed. Do we know yet if Area B will take 4 or 5 bands??

Great job by JMJ. I know everyone has their favorites but Area B is going to be an unfortunate dogfight. Colleyville Heritage, Marcus, Bell, Hebron, Richland, and Plano East are all state caliber bands that will be fighting for 4 or 5 spots next week and that is if another program doesn't perform their way into the mix. I would even go out on a limb and say that Marcus, Bell, Richland, and Hebron are potentially 4 of the top 10 programs in the state as they all made state finals two years ago. I definitely will find my way to Carrollton next Saturday for this one.

I've seen most of the big bands the last few weeks and Bell, Berkner, and Hebron are going to have strong programs at UIL level. Marcus program plays well at BOA level for fluff content but I'm interested to see how it plays at UIL level where flash doesn't count as much. To their credit, it is a very nice visual program. Pfleugerville program is good, and much improved, but I'm not sure it's quite yet state level. I'm not sure who they have in their UIL area to beat for those spots. With Cedar Park going to 4A, that definitely opens a spot.

No question -- LD Bell 2008 "Quest" show. There is a great montage on Youtube of the all time great marching band shows and this show is one of them. Funny -- my daughter's favorite was Hebron's "watched" show that same year with the eyeballs all over the field and the girl screaming at the end.
