  1. For the bands that were in the finals, did any of them discuss their experience performing so late at night, i am curious how that went.
  2. After seeing Dripping Springs BOA performance, I'm putting them in the medal category for state, if you disagree then you haven't seen their show
  3. I'm going and having a great time regardless of what time it is...
  4. I always enjoyed watching Hays, I hope they have a strong year, my favorite Hays show was 2009, My kids were in the Drip band that year so we say alot of Hays.
  5. The marching judges in finals stated that DS was very clean, but that was due to their sets being to easy, so they marked them much lower. Not sure how that works, I don't know what judges look for in those areas
  6. Yes they can win this. Not having to compete with DS will raise that possibilityl.
  7. DS had a timeing issue during their second movement that caused their drop to 6. Even the best teams sometimes fumble at the goal line. A small mistake will hurt you in a tight competition no matter how great you are; other bands can learn from this, first time since 2005 that DS didn't make it past area.
  8. I didn't see the finals for area D, something big must have happened for DS to slip to 6, they looked so good in prelims. No room for mistakes
  9. I think it's wide open this year, after Area results, I can't make any predictions
  10. Really tough area, hard to imagine state without DS
  11. 2011 Dripping Springs and Vandegrift were playing the same music; it all depends on Your final 2 performances. At State during prelims, DS played their best show of the year and CP made straight 1's; CP nailed it again in finals. You never know until last note is played.
  12. Friendswood and poteet have always been great. They held the 1 and 2 spots in 4a for many years.
  13. I remember that someone commented last year that DS is the Marcus of 4a.
  14. I agree, DS is often over looked but always shows up at the top. I always look forward to watching their shows, always a great sound with amazing marching skills. Many bands are following their foot steps; the rest of the season will be amazing.
  15. You could also see Dripping Springs take the top spot, not sure about Westlake, have not seen their show yet
  16. Sounds Great. Am I seeing new uniforms for Cedar Park? Hard to tell from a distance..
  17. I would put Dripping Springs In the UIL predictions. They are very consistant and always there at the top.
  18. I am courious about the make up of this years 4A Area D. In 2011 it was such a strong competitive area; does area D still have the same line up?
  19. When I was in Marching Band in the late 70"s and early 80"s, less attention was given to the music and more was placed on the marching; now you hear these incredible musical performances along with the amazing drill designs, plus you have more competitions. Its all great and I hope it keeps getting better!
  20. I went back in time and looked at scores from previous years at Westlake, they seem to be consistant with the winners scoring in the 95% range. 2001 Bowie 95.42
  21. I'm sure that Cedar Park will do just fine; last season they took their time, polished their show then nailed it in the end. Its hard to predict a winner in early October, so many bands are still working things out, making changes, gaining confidence ect, its still wide open. I have not had a chance to see Cedar Park or Dripping Springs shows this year; I'm very interested in the outcome of this contest...
  22. Dripping Springs will anounce their show in early April, guess its that time again...
