Could anyone explain what the rules are regarding going over time? I was at this event today and one of the bands (McKinney Boyd) was clearly still playing music/performing after the 8 minute clock had run out. They placed 4th in the prelims and I wondered if they had received a penalty or something. Prelims: 1) McKinney 2) Duncanville 3) Wylie 4) Boyd 5) Poteet 6) Garland 7) Allen 8) Bowie 9) Lakeview 10) Naaman Lakeview won capture awards for Color Guard and Drum Major, Duncanville won all the other captures. Sorry, I could not stay for final award ceremony, so don't know what the final standings are, but they aren't usually much different from the prelims are they?
