I personally am a tuba player but, I have lots of respect for the pit. Come concert season, you see all the battery kids in last band and pit kids in wind ensemble or symphonic band.

Hey thanks for all the input. In response to all the questions, they are Yamahas. And as a matter of fact, some quick background, I was a 4 foot 10 inch freshman and the directors were fixated on having me march baritone, however they let me have a shot and I ended up marching contra as a freshman. I am now 5 foot 2 so not much has changed and I am still the smallest in my section, but nonetheless, I am doing what I love doing. Also, I do like Mr Delacruz or DLC as we refer to him in the Woodlands. I think he is a fantastic director and wonderful influence.
