I've played under Gary Garner as well. He was my clinician for the All Region Band Wind Ensemble my junior year. He was AMAZING!

Us (FR) and Haltom competed a lot together. We were always neck and neck with each other the whole season. So going INTO Area, everyone knew who the top 2, whereas the main question was, who's going to take the third spot. A lot of fun nonetheless though

2000 (my freshman year) was a GREAT year for Texas Marching Band. I remember my very first competition seeing TC's train prop in the back and thinking to myself "...wtf is this?" lol. Area B 2000 was intense as well...great competition

Thanks for the correction! Afterall, I was a freshman at that time and new to the marching world, I wasn't sure of any of these bands were!! Now I remember. Bell went to Birdville and the last time they went was 2000. Just a bit of history for the current FR members. In 2002, FR was the FIRST band at the Birdville contest to sweep all captions in finals. From 2001 to 2004/2005 (approx.), FR has usually placed first in pre-lims and typically finished in finals at second. Either right behind TC or Marcus...

TOTALLY forgot about this site. This wouldn't be FR's first time attending ToC. I believe the LAST time FR went was my freshman year in 2000. We placed right behind LD Bell, Colony and Berkner. I also think FR went several times or one other time before 2000.

Colony hasn't won state. 2000 - LD Bell 2002 - Duncanville 2004 - LD Bell 2006 - Marcus those were the state champs. The Colony however did place finals in 2000, and placed 5th or 6th
