Not a single director in the finals meeting wanted Finals after having to endure and survive a first run in the rain. The kids health and safety were TOP priority for them all. Secondary thoughts were uniforms, instruments, electronic equipment etc etc etc.
We lucked out to be able to safely get prelims done, but with the possibility of the rain continuing and getting heavier(as the BOA officials stated) it just wasn't going to sway decisions.
Finals cancellations are decided in the Finals meeting, by each director voicing their thoughts/opinions as to which way to proceed. BOA stated that IF it was wished, things could have proceeded into finals. The stage was set, the judges were prepared, it just simply depended on the directors....which I believe is the correct way to approach it.
BTW- CP choose to not wear unis and EVERY program was given the same options as was passed down by BOA judges that it would not be held against them in regards to scores and judgement.
I for one was happy to not getting home at 3,4, 5am. Sleep felt great!
