  1. word is, martin is competing in the marching division this year. can someone confirm this?
  2. im down with g-town. im really diggin the beats this year for you guys as well. mr pape is an awesome teacher and just an all around badass haha. the top 10 this year is gonna be sick, that's all i can say.
  3. im going to add to the whole "great performance everybody" thing. this is the first contest in a LONG time where i felt that the all the placings and scores given were correct and justified. my favorite part of the night by far though, was seeing a band (wont name names) that loves to talk noise and be jackasses get owned and then be sad about it. man i love that "ha ha" feeling. great job overall though to everyone.
  4. this is going to be good friends.
  5. no. BOA is all smoke and mirrors. if you dont dance and/or have electronics and rappers in your show, you probably wont do very well.
  6. yeah i really dig it. signature CP and it's clean. great job.
  7. thank you very much. that really means alot and i really am digging vista's show this year. congrats to every one. i LOVED cedar park's show. lots of velocity. didnt get to see bowie, but my dad works at bowie and i have heard good things. didn't care for round rock's show. connaly was very entertaining. good luck to all at UIL.
  8. i hate the cavaliers with a passion. get it phantom. but yeah. i was looking at the recap sheets this morning and i laughed. i watched the tape. and i laughed. this weekend it's on at westlake and im so stoked.
  9. oh i agree akins deserved first. and yes i can blame judges because alot of tapes i have listened to have proved that alot of them have no idea what they are saying most of the time. lol. now obviously akins deserved 1st. they ripped in every aspect of their show. however, im not so sure some of the bands that got the places they got deserved the places they got. just a thought. im done.
  10. well no wonder everyone played better during finals. so did we. the band souded a million times better than we did during prelims. yet we still placed low. i think the only correct placings were akins and lampasses. all the others in between had some ****ed up judging i suppose. because something just seems fishy.
  11. Yea. We (leander) did get shafted. Performing first had lots to do with our placement. Plus, there was no percussion judge for finals apparently... where did those points go? Because it really doesnt make sense how we played pretty bad during prelims and got third, but played about 50 times more amazing than that during finals and got 6th. Someone explain this to me. All in all my night last night was ruined. Lol. But congrats to everyone.
  12. yea we (leander) got like 8th or something last year. i really hope we can step it up a bit.
  13. this topic is rediculous
  14. district champs, 9-0.
  15. yea, i heard that shortly after the summer ended. that should be sweet. i really like cassella's arranging.
  16. the percussion caption fell the same as the overall. so in percussion it was... 1. Westfield 2. Brazoswood 3. Leander
  17. no joke man. the memebers in that corps were the equivalent of olympians! especially that contra line. and the drumline...just amazing. like i said flawless. toes to the sky, perfect music execution, cleanliness, i mean...there was literally NOTHING wrong with that show. so good sooooooooo good. ok anyways, back to your originally scheduled topic. lol.
  18. no. i'm saying that no show has ever lived up to that show. lol. it was FLAWLESS. i'm also just saying that I have yet to be able to appreciate a cavies show since 95 and 2001. those were both good shows. however, i dunno, i guess I just feel that the Cavaliers are kinda like the high-school marching band of DCI. in my opinion they are just not very good. but i guess when it comes to DCI i hold really REALLY high standards into what i would consider a good show. and the cavies just really bore me to tears.
  19. well...it CERTAINLY is no Star of Indiana 93. :-D
  20. i actually really dont know what it is. i mean i have just never liked them. their shows (with the exception of 2001) have never actually captured my attention, they have always just seemed boring. very clean, yes, but i just have never liked them. i'm a drummer so i watch the drumline alot and it seems as if they play the same thing over and over during their shows. maybe that's what it is. and then they win things. lol.
  21. dude, a lot of people in my band not only have girlfriends during marching season, but they also have jobs. they seem to do just fine.
  22. i just flat out hate the cavies.
  23. a BOA show being too hard to clean?! that's like...a double standard right?
  24. yeah, like, the night leander and round rock played each other (cap city night), some saxaphone player (who had glasses and whose shako was being worn so back on his forehead that he probably gave an aerial pilot a seizure) proceeded to shove his fist in our band memebers face and go "ohhhhhhh ohhhhhhh what now, what nowwww" and i came really close to nailing a fist right in his teeth.
