  1. Yea, after seeing the Martin show, I find it hard to understand how they received first place rankings in repertoire from two of the judges. The only semi-difficult music was their last movement. All of it was executed very well (minus some blaring errors) and the Execution score definitely deserved. And Lake Highlands in second? What?
  2. The sattelite thing happened at my theater too! Luckily there was another one nearby that we went and just missed the first 3 or 4 corps. And IMO, 2010 has overall better shows, especially Cavaliers and Bluecoats. But BD and Carolina Crown had rather boring shows in 2010, their shows are better in 09. All that's from a show concept and design viewpoint, ie which show looks pretty.
  3. Note that these two performances were back to back. I don't know if that means anything to anybody else, just interpret what you want.
  4. I bet you're about to date a blonde, have a sister in high school and middle school, two parents, also live in a neighborhood off of 3406 and have lanyard for your keys that displays your adoration of the Patriots.
  5. Wow, mrwood69, that is an amazing answer. This response is nothing less than flawless. You must have a lot of common sense. I bet you are very well educated.
  6. Never said it was a bad thing. Just they placed below Anderson, CT Johnson, and Reagan at Area, tied with Round Rock at area, yet beat them all at state. I meant crazy as in surprising.
  7. Haha, never realized that part took so long. Feels like 20 seconds when you're on the field.
  8. I agree. Maybe it's because they switched back to their dull navy blue uniforms instead of their bright and lively white and yellow ones that they used last year for their light show
  9. You wanna know something truly crazy? Westlake made State Finals.
  10. Well every show has it's bad parts, and proclaiming all of Marcus's hard parts is nothing special. Sorry, everyone does it about their band, gets annoying after a while.
  11. From seeing their show at Area, CT Johnson. Being on the drumline, I can't really tell the difference between a good sound and a great sound for the winds, but their percussion was darn good.
  12. Well the only part where there is little playing while moving is the drum feature, and that's cause the its a drum feature so therefore the band doesn't play.
  13. Let me rephrase: I have lost respect for Joeyz.

  15. I don't quite understand this part, can you explain a little further?
  16. First off, I could go through Bell's show and describe all the difficult parts in their show. Actually, I could do that for any show, so stop complaining. Second off, just because you have made these past two comments, I have lost some respect for Marcus High School. Oh, and marching is always more difficult than visuals, just saying.
  17. Ok, Marcus's drill may have been easier than Bell's, but if was CLEAN. That drill that they marched was better than some of the Drum Corps shows I've seen. (None of the major corps, so don't freak out on me.) And honestly, I'd be willing to argue that Bell is overrated. Their props were incredibly distracting simply because they were trying to be discreet about something rather large. They didn't add much effect anyways. And also, the some of the easy parts in their drill were not performed as well as the difficult parts.
  18. Do you honestly expect a band to have near perfection on one side of the field and complete disaster on the other side visually? That's what you're implying about Round Rock, cause their visual rankings were 5 and 25.
  19. *cough* drumline/guard captions *cough*
  20. I know, I was just saying...
  21. Each of the judges gave each band individual point scores, and these scores were then ranked among all the other bands judged by each specific judge. Then the ranks from all 5 judges were added together, and that was the UIL score. In this way, Pflugerville and Westwood tied, but by adding up the individual scores that the judges, Pflugerville scored higher.
  22. You know score-wise they actually beat Westwood. Honestly they just got screwed by a bad performance time with unpredictable judges.
  23. Honestly, the thing that makes Round Rock so good is the difficulty of their show. No other school really even attempts a show that difficult.
  24. Well the whole post was about Round Rock, so you can assume Round Rock. And it was two marching festivals Capital City and Westlake.
