well if it doesnt get rained out, i will be at region 3's contest tonight. i'll watch the first block(the weaker block that will have 2's, if there are any) and then berkner and sachse in the second block. i'm hoping for all ones. but i hear that the judges are not going to be as quick to give ones(unlike 2006)... if Xenons right about 5 bands out of region 20, that would mean if region 21 had all three bands make ones and region 3 had all thirteen bands make ones, only 21 bands would be at area. if two of the bands from region 3 or 21 make a two then three bands make state... *gulp* we will see what happens tonight...

thats funny because the member above me broke the rule she just stated...lol

2 years ago, the bands that advanced were Duncanville, Rowlett, Coppell, Berkner. the alternates were sachse and desoto... but that was a while back, so a whole lot has changed... you can bet that duncanville will basicly be a shoe-in... Mr. daniel is prolly right about the fact that 4 bands will likely advance(silly dallas schools, they are fun to watch though)... that means 3 spots are left open. most people will quickly predict that it will be coppell, berkner and rowlett to finish off the state list, but there are some really good "under the radar" bands right behind them. lake highlands, and desoto have looked really stong, as well as south grand praire, and richardson. i personally think that the band most likely to upset somebody is sachse. from what i hear, they really have a great show this year(even if it is based on the taks test). sachse is my amla matre's rival. on monday they boo'ed rowlett at our district's bandfest(its kinda like a pre-uil). they are really good though. i would love to see them make state(though a small part of me would hate it ).
