whoa whoa. Don't screw over your entire band program for something he did. If you're trying to convince students from elementary, intermediate, and junior high schools to drop band, that's messing up the entire program for a long time, that shouldn't be what you're after. Get rid of the director, sue him, get him fired, but don't tell students to drop out, that shouldn't be what you're looking for. Maybe I misread it... I dunno. Just an idea.

Showing pride by doing something completely clean and unoffensive in a salute? WTF were you thinking?!?!?!?! = this whole thing is ridiculous. Maybe a punishment of some sort, but not anything NEAR the caliber of getting kicked out. I've seen a kid in my band cuss out a director before and he just got In School Suspension for a week, but he's still in band. That's ridiculous...

Sit where you want, you paid to sit where you want, that's all. But if the poteet parents knew that Conally was sitting in those seats before, knew connally wanted those seats back, they should have had some class and not sat there in the first place, that's just asking for a fight. If someone saves a few good rows and nobody's sitting there, those parents saving those seats have no right at all to make you move. Now if someone from that groups comes and wants to sit there, then maybe being polite and moving would be the right move. But until then, those seats are fair game, you just have to be smart about it all.

I thought Roma had the most powerful music, but I guess I could be wrong... or maybe it's because I have an addiction to Jupiter... especially with concert horns, I dunno. It sounded really cool.

From my seat, they couldn't keep a straight line to save their life in prelims. But their finals performance was nothing short of awesome. Even if they were one of three bands to play the music crown played in 06... kinda ridiculous, yet still fun to hear anyways =p

UIL- the only group in Texas that uses a scoring system that would allow for a band to win simply by marching a fairly difficult box drill to variations of the b-flat scale, so long as it's clean and sounds good.

No no, they got shafted. They had already beaten six of the finalist bands, two pointed or better all but New Braunfels, at the USSBA competition. They have heard nothing but good things from practically every judge they've performed for this year, and were kept out of area by one judge that didn't like their show. = Shafted *discussion closed*

Plain and simple, Steele got shafted. They had the performance of their lives, played and marched well, and got one wild vote from a judge that put them out of finals. 7, 9, 10, 12 and 19. the 19 killed them, put them in 11th place overall, while ten were taken to finals. Such a heartbreaker for the band, to go far beyond anyone's expectations all year, most people had never even heard of them, simply to get shut down by one wayward score at area competition.

Phantom Regiment and the Blue Devils will not make finals this year. And Pioneer will take the championship, 5 pointing the cavies who will take 2nd... lol, seriously I dunno. Just a bit of comic relief to such a serious subject...
