Mike Sloan... are you from churchhill? I seriously don't know. He writes our shows too, or at least he has for the last two years. Our show from last year was great, but he seemed to have serious priority issues, thus churchhill placing 40 spots higher than us as BOA. well, he's not the only reason... our band isn't that great either =(

play a loud nasty sound, just as ugly as you can make it. Then practice playing loud. Every time you hear that ugly sound, figure out what made you do it, then never do that again =)

streaking during a band competition... wow... I actually giggled a little and I just realized how odd that sounded. Band is still first in my heart, and won't be changing anytime soon.

Medea's Dance of Vengeance- played it my freshmen year for our show, pretty much one of the coolest pieces i've ever played. Tommy and Pinball Wizard- just good old 70's fun, kickasstic music =) Vesuvius (Frank Ticheli)- sounds awesome, lots of fun playing in 9/8, tough parts, did I mention it sounds awesome? Shostakovich's Symphony 5- especially the finale, awesome music Russian Christmas Music- I hated christmas music before I heard this song, because we always played the same stuff OVER and OVER again. I still hate christmas music, but this song rocks =p

Are you kidding me? I haven't seen too too many shows, but i saw little difference between The Planets, My Kind of Town, Frameworks, and Spin Cycle. They were all very entertaining, especially the music from 95 and 05.

what school are you from? I don't think our entire band got completely quiet ONCE during the entire year. Our director has no control over anyone, it's really sad... but true.

I'd tell everyone what the Clemens Symphonic Band is playing, but we change our repertoire every other day... so I'll probably let everyone know about a day before UIL

lol, we deserve the crap that we get. Our football team (Clemens) was first in the area going into the playoffs (anyone from madison, stay out of my thread =p), and yet the band, with our BEST performance of the year, got 46th out of 58(?). So our band sucks compared to our sports. But our athletes are powerfully full of themselves.

English needs to go to some remote planet and die. End of story. When I grow up and be anything I'm NOT going to need to know the rhetorical strategies used in The Scarlet Letter to play professional baseball *just for example*
