Our home crowd does a pretty good job at being a pretty good crowd. There's no disrespect since the band doesn't really have that stigma at our school. Certain away games are a different story however. I remember one game against a Dallas ISD school two years ago. The school was known for being very rude and abrasive, but to resort to chucking trash at the band during our performance? WOW. Our director said he was about ready to have the Drum Majors blow the whistle and have us come off the field. He believed that a crowd that rude didn't deserve a performance if they weren't going to be respectful. Thankfully the show picked up musically and the crowd went silent. It could have been worse, and I'm sure worse has happened to other bands. This is just my experience.
