@LHSax I have a feeling its because Leander's football team is not doing so well (0 wins and 9 losses). P.S. This was just a joke. the Leander High School football team consists of the classiest individuals you will ever see. Before Leander's prelims performance, the football team got the Leander Band a cake wishing them good luck.

Should be... Its a pretty big contest, they usually are.

That culture of excellence starts with the upperclassman (sophomores, juniors, seniors), and the directors. Its a process it takes persistence and patience, but overtime things can change...

I'm not so sure about the choice of CTJ's uniforms, it left them very exposed. They had to work twice as hard to look as clean as the other bands, and on top of that the level of difficulty in that show, with or without the unique uniforms, is ridiculous. Regardless, they have an amazing show and performed exceptionally well tonight, they just haven't left themselves any room for error in any performance, whether that be BOA finals tomorrow or UIL State. Kind of reminds me of Carolina Crown when they used to have cream colored uniforms, if somebody messed up you could tell instantly.

Ryan George writes for Leander. I think we all know who he is, he writes for Round Rock, Cedar Ridge, and James Bowie as well. The head guard director for Leander is a guard director for Round Rock too. Oh the similarities....

Jeremy Hunt <-Genius this man. Same guy that wrote Bowie's Drill up until last year and Round Rock's for a couple few years, this years as well. He writes for Phantom Regiment, and it is his first year writing for Leander I believe.

When I think about they had some of the hardest woodwind runs of the night.Nothing stuck out about them but I guess thats the point. They made an hard show look easy.

I meant to say Vista is going to be the State champion... There was that big of a gap between CP and Vista I am not bitter about anything... Cedar Park, Vandegrift, Connally, and especially Vista Ridge (the star of the show tonight) simply played better and marched cleaner than Leander. The difference in the scores show it. A one point difference is arguable, a five point one isn't...

I don't think you were there when vista played... you wouldn't put them bronze... Edit: this is a compliment, they totally blew everybody away... I would have them at LEAST Silver, if not gold...

GE doesn't play an explicitly stated role in UIL judging so that won't help them, but they will probably do well considering it takes more than just GE to win a competition and they are undefeated so they are doing something right.

Leander has a weird show, and I can't really seem to put my finger on why? Their show is more BOA than UIL? But that never seems to stop marcus. Their drill is different than Vandegrift's, Cedar Park's, and Vista Ridge's drill. Less symmetrical maybe? More showey and less drum corp-esq? They have a hard show that they perform, however there is something different about it and I don't know what...

Mellow I agree somewhat with jmatthews, I saw Leander's show and it is very, very cool. Also I learned that leander was only 0.4 away from Vandegrift at the Vista Ridge marching festival. Not a huge difference. I think they have more than just a shot considering those type of scores. (Did a little digging)
