mnkyman Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Please vote for your favorite song. Bigryry2026 + Fortisimo + Thesnareguy + Quote
AndrewPCarr Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 I find it hard to compare a flute choir to a techno orchestra or steel guitar with techno accompaniment But that's just me! Quote
Fortisimo Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Hey, when you vote for someone it would be nice for you to say who you voted for and why... I figured Ryan would get more votes on account of the musical dexterity he displayed in his work though. I didn't vote for anyone, I just nulled it. Quote
mnkyman Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 i guess ppl vote for what they think sounds "coolest." Quote

Fortisimo Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Yeah, right click and then click 'Save Target as...". Glad you like our work. Mine is called Experimentation. Looks like the gap is closing up now on the votes... Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 i wouldve tried it but finale is seriously messed up on my comp now. Quote
Dynasty Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I voted: thesnareguy It seemed to be more like a song than a grouping of cool music effects. I liked the beat too. Quote
Fortisimo Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 INteresting that you would say that; I would've thought the same thing, except exactly opposite. Me and snare's entrie's both relied fairly heavily on effects and a bit repetitive patterns. If that was what you were basing your vote off of, I would've predicted you would choose Ryan's; it has the most structure and musicality. But, we all percieve things differently I suppose. Quote
mnkyman Posted March 20, 2006 Author Posted March 20, 2006 i forgot to add Polls close 1 week after opening - so this friday polls close Quote
TRtrumpet Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I like ryans alot, but his is the only one I've heard so far. I'll download the other ones later... my computers slow. Quote
euro_euph06 Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I think that Ryan won since he has the most votes and its Friday. Right mnkyman? Quote
Fortisimo Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Er... Ryan doesn't have the most votes; although his piece probably deserved the most. The funny thing is, people generally don't appreciate musical astuteness do any significant degree. Of course, we all have our own tastes, but in general, be the song slow, fast, loud, soft, whatever, simple things with simple ideas sell to broad audiences. Don't believe me? Just go and listen to a top 40's station for a few minutes; you'll see the truth behind my statements. Quote
Fortisimo Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 LOl, maybe I shouldn't have said anything- surely no one else would've been astute enough to have caught that and maybe the proper song would win. Quote

I know you are very musically inclined, but just because you thought that Ryan's song was the "proper" song to win doesn't mean everyone else should think that. I think we should all congratulate Snaredrummer on his wonderful piece, and the fact that he got the most votes. Congrats Snaredrummer! Quote
euro_euph06 Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Should we start a new one....I would like to get in on the action. Quote

You're right; well done snareguy; especially for your unfamiliarity with Fl Studio. Ya did good. I agree with Euro as well; I'm ready for another competition- I just got it set up to where I can use my midi keyboard to record passages in real time. Quote
mnkyman Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 Sorry on the late post guys but ive been busy. CONGRATS SNAREGUY YOU WON! pm dynasty for your prize of a custom user title. next competition will start soon (within the week) stay tuned im thinking that next week..we have freeform once again for music as well as drill ..i know comparison for judging will be harder, but i beleive ppl should vote on the one they like the best / the one with the most work put into it Quote
Fortisimo Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Will the music and drill be separate categories? Quote
mnkyman Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 thats what im thinking...but theres prolly not gonna be enough drill writers to make a seperate catagory...maybe..io and pablo..but thats all i can think of Quote
thesnareguy Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I have no idea on how to use drill programs... Quote
euro_euph06 Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I only know how to use the very basic options on Pyware. It is a unique program that if you know how to use it, can be fun...or so I am told. Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Can i write drill by hand and scan it? lol, that may not work to well Quote
