Hawkeye Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 Wow, I have been registered since October and I have never bothered to make a post. Howdy all! So here is my question to all of you, how does your band raise money for both marching and concert seasons? Do you do lots of car washes? or do bake sells? How does your band raise the money? Quote
TRtrumpet Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 We run one of the JR high football game concession stands one Thursday and we get all the money that we make. We also have a "Pre-game Dinner" One Friday night before the game and we sell tickets. We always make sure that its something good and that people will want to buy... lol. Right now were doing some kind of raffle for a huge TV. Yea... we do other stuff too. Quote
MartinHorn Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 I do something that involves standing on street corner. We get good income. Quote
sax5warrior Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Hrmm, every band has their own ways. We raise it by hosting Winterguard/Winter Percussion championships, also participate in 4 fundraisers a year. Not much concession stands though. Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Every marching season we sell "entertainment books," which are full of coupons for just about everything. Once we sold poinsettias around Christmastime, and this year we sold Chick-Fil-A calendars. Our most memorable fundraiser was having a bunch of volunteers go up to Reliant Stadium before the Houston Bowl to stuff the cupholders with Chick-Fil-A coupons in return for $1000. And some free Chick-Fil-A cow toys. Quote
chickora Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 i love our method the most. What we do is have each band member ask 10 people for 10 dollars. That is 100 dollars per person. We have like 210 students...so that's a lot of money. These donations go to our Anual March a Thon. We practically march 5K around the neighorhood. It's really fun. We also run the consestion stands. (bad spelling) Quote

viccro Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Ws sell ads for our band directory over the summer, and have fundraisers like the HEB giftcards, washtub coupons and entertainment books. Last year was way better in fundraising for the Rose Parade: we moved flocks of those gaudy pink flamingos from lawn to lawn: we were paid to remove them and send them to another house (of the victim's choice)! Vicki!!!! One of your band members had those darn pink flamingos shipped to my house! I had to take a picture with them in the rain <_> Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 We stood outside Chick-fil-A once and played pep band stuff. THe best part was when we all marched through chick-fil-a playing the fight song! i dont think ill ever forget that Quote

One of the best fundraising ideas I've ever heard of. We sell pass books, and what's new this year, lines on the back of our show shirt. Quote
mnkyman Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 we do concessions for every home game and sell items with the band/school logo at football games lots of fundraisers during the year (like those sell a candle or wrapping paper things) like 6 of them i think yearly bingo night yearly casino night trailer sponsorships (companies pay for their name on trailer) smaller companies put in smaller amounts like 100 bucks for their name in concert programs for the year parents sponsor with like 10 dollor donations in return for like a sticker we host a couple DC festival competitions and other things like that The Excitement of Sound is run by our band boosters so thats a hefty portion of our funding trip accounts are like 400 during spring and 400-800 during fall - so its not like we dont pay for stuff ourselfs the rest i guess the school district picks up um - i guess thats all for now..if i think of more ill post again Quote
