euro_euph06 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Does anyone have a recording of the following: Symphonic Metamorphosis (all four movements) Lux Aurmque A Night in Tunisia Any recordings would be appreciated. Thanks! Quote
Xenon Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 You can download the Wind version of Lux Aurumque at: http://www.ericwhitacre.com/downloads/LUX_...HONIC_WINDS.mp3 Quote
mbui Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I've been listening to it for months and I still cannot get enough of Lux Aurumque. I listen to it at least five times a day. On my way to classes, on my way home, driving around town, while I go to sleep....... That piece can make me weep like no other. Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I think i still have your e-mail, I have the other two pieces. Quote
euro_euph06 Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 Thanks Xenon for the webiste and Bell for the other two pieces. Quote
springbassliner26 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Lux Aurumque is such an amazing peice...we played it at the Region 9 Wind Ensemble concert this year and it was the first time i had ever heard it. totally blew me away Quote
itsstephenyo Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 i have an absolutely amazing recording of symphonic metamorphosis by the philadelphia orchestra. i tend to prefer full orchestras over bands, though. kinda like johan de meij's lord of the rings symphony. he wrote it for wind band but i have a recording of london symphony orchestra playing the snot outta it. if you wanna hear loud brass fanfare, listen to the first 30 seconds. good lord that's a brass section. Trumpet Master Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I would love to get a recording of A Night in Tunisia, you that wouldn't be to much trouble. Quote

Fortisimo Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 You know what song is really awesome? Pictures at an Exhibition. It has such a range of styles and odd techniques. Very cool. That Lux song is pretty sweet too... Who wrote it? Quote
Disappearer221 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Just to clarify... Pictures at an Exhibition is not a song. Songs are sung, and typically have words. Pieces are played. Sorry, dont want to seem snooty, just a personal pet peeve. Quote
