It's gonna be great once we put it all together on the field. Oh, and I meant to put Rossini, sorry about that. I'm trying out for drum major so I've been listening to the midi file and conducting through the first movement alot. I'm looking forward to having a great marching season. THANKS FOR THE GREAT MUSIC!!!!!! Quote

I love the 3rd movement (and the drunken sailor part from the 2nd). Malcolm Arnold writes fantastic music. It's the third movement. Should be very very emotional. Also, they are playing the third movement of the Rachmoninoff. Quote
Trumpeter07 Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 So yeah it's already been said but i like to repeat the obvious: Cedar Park High School will be doing: "Fire of Eternal Glory" the music of Dmitri Schostakovich exerpts from: "Fire of Eternal Glory" and "Symphony Number 10" I heard the midi and it sounds amazing Quote
artishard Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 what's the fun in knowing everyone's show ahead of time? i think it's more fun to leave it all to be a surprise until the first game, or competition. Quote
Fortisimo Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Heh, I'd just be happy to know our own show right now. Quote

Just to add some more about Spring and what Twomey (springbassliner26) said, I have my connections (cough cough) and I actually have our show music already for the West Side Story theme. Of course, it is NOT official that this is what we're doing. Our directors are still in the development mode, and anything goes...anywho... I'm not saying anything else though! You'll just have to wait for BOA...or UIL...or whatever else we're competing in. Haha. Quote
Aegis Fang Posted May 9, 2006 Author Posted May 9, 2006 So from what I've heard Clemens is doing "The 47 Ronin" -Lord Asano -The Masterless Samurai -Death to Kira Sort of an asian music show, sound pretty sweet. Quote
BlinK Day 41 Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Hmm we're doing Short Ride in a Fast Machine for our opener. that's all our BD has let out... but it's supposedly going to be alot deeper than our past shows, alot of people think we're gonna take PCEP this year at states i'm hopin we do . . . i mean it gets boring in MI when your band (i can't think of a modest way to say this) has no competition other than a GN Finalist whom you're pretty sure will whip you every time you see them Quote
FunkyFlute07 Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 We're playing Visions by Jair Klarfeld. its super easy..but theres a flute solo and im excited Quote
VRHSRangerTBone Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Vista Ridge High School (in Cedar Park) is playing music from John Rutter's "Gloria" this year. It's being arranged by Mark Higginbotham, and the drill is being written by an assistant director from Reagan who is also a visual guy for Phantom Regiment. (I apologize for not knowing his name, I'm sure many of you guys do.) Back in 1989, the Cavaliers did a couple of the movements that we're doing, and they should be pretty much the same for us. Apparently Mark Higginbotham is also writing some original music for us as well. I can't wait to see the music for this show tomorrow at our music camp! A lot of people from our school are fretting about how "boring" the show is going to be because it's based on a hymn, but that is most definitely not the case if you've ever heard 1989 Cavies, which most of them have not. If anyone's interested, I can send a recording to anyone who wants one. We are also going to BOA San Antonio this year which I am extremely excited about. As our first year as a full high school, I think this could be our breakout year, just like Hendrickson's first full year last year. (For those who don't know, we opened in 2003 with freshmen only and have been adding a grade level each year ever since.) We have quite a bit potential this year, and I hope we can fulfill it all. Good luck to everyone this season! Quote
titancoaster Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 All that I am going to say is watch out for us next year. Our music is extremly awsome. The Visual design has not been released. It is a very different show, but you will have to wait for BOA Arlington to find out what the show is. Muahaha! Quote
robs3889 Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Well Bush High from fort bend will be playing an arrangement of King Kong this year including King Kong Opening Beautiful (Ballad) King Kong Finale All are arranged by Bocook who i think is pretty good at what he does so yeah cant wait for it although it is more of a brass heavy song im still excited Quote

dcjudge Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Clements High from Sugarlands show next year is entitled"Heat of the Day" Opens with a high octane tango version of "Bolero"...should at one point go 190 plus! then it goes into the Malambo from Danza Final. The closing section is Pat Methenys "Heat of the Day" The show revolves around the various colors/emotions and dances that are invoked by the title of the show. Quote
MartinHorn Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Malambo from Danza Final from Estancia. Sounds like it's gonna be a good show. Quote
