euro_euph06 Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 For '06 6 snares 4 tenors 5 basses 6 cymbals Do not know about the pit. Last year we had a 7-3-5. That did not work at all and the snares were somewhat dirty. In '04 we had a 5-3-5 which did work. Quote
springbassliner26 Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 as of right now: 7 snares 3 tenors 5 basses dont know about cymbals/pit Quote
MartinHorn Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I don't know for sure but I think it's like we have for every year. 7 snares 3 tenors 5 basses 4 cymbals 13 in pit. Snares, tenors, basses figures only for varsity drumline. Pit will probably change. Quote
Lustra.exe Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 4-2-5 ; 4 cymbals fitting for our band size. i think 5-3-5 would be pushing it. Quote
mnkyman Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 56 snares 15 cymbals 20 basses 10 tenors 5 marching accesory racks (lol they actually have those) 10 mini chime thingys lol this isnt are real size or instruments, but think how cool that would be to have like a line of snares from the 30 to the 30 lol i know there are some colleges that have larger than usual drumlines like 15 snares or something - pretty cool Quote

G'townPIT Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 imagine cleaning 56 snares. even if you could get 56 of the world's best snare drummers, it would be nasty. nasty as in bad. 9 or 10 is usually the max, any more is just too difficult to make it sound decent. Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Ours is pretty dang big this year. 8 snares, 6 basses, 5 tenors, 6( i think) cybmals and a biiiiig pit Quote

QuadraticBeats Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 At last, we're utilizing all of our instruments to the point of practicality. Vista Ridge D®umline '06 Battery: 5 Snares, 3 Tenors, 5 Basses, and 4 Cymbals. The Snare Line consists of four vets and one new player. The Tenor Line consists of me (the one vet), the best incoming freshman, and our ex-third bass player. The Bass Line consists of three vets, one incoming freshman, and an oboe player who should have been a percussionist. The Cymbal line... well, they didn't do much last season, (had three marching last year, but one of them broke his arm) so they may as well be a new thing. Front Ensemble: 4 Marimbas, 4 Vibraphones, 1 Timpanist, and three Auxiliary. Quote
EODrillDesigner98 Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 I wont know how big Temescal Canyon Drumline will be until either tomorrow during our Mini-Band Camp or until July when we have our full Band Camp. Quote
elprezidente Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 hey QuadraticBeats i wanted to know if you were there when your band marched labyrinth in 04? yea i kno its off topic, but yea our lines 5,2,4,4 perfect in our band, not like the behemoths that need like 8 snares. Quote
Miken Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I can provide the other end of the big drumline spectrum - my kids so far are 1 snare, 1 tenor and 1 bass. (Or no snares / two tenors / 1 bass - I haven't decided yet.) And that's from a 4A school. In our defense, we're starting a band program up again after the previous one crashed and burned in the last couple of years - they went from 130 in the band in 2003 to 7 in the band in '05. Hopefully, we'll get at least a couple of freshmen that I didn't know about, and we can field 2-1-2 or something similar. Mike Drumline Director AS Johnston HS Austin TX Quote

Updated: 7 Snares (although our instructor is planning on cutting it to 5) 0 Tenors 5 Basses And I still have no info on cymbals/pit. But if Spring bassline trends continue as they have the past 2 years, we'll have 4 at the end of the season. Quote
G'townPIT Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 6 Basses? Does the 6th bd on the high end or the low end? Quote
