At Bowie we tried so hard to impliment something where during summer band camp the baritone who held their horn up best that day got to switch horns with the trumpet or mello who held theirs up the worst. While this happened once i'm convinced that this may just be a way to encourage us lazy baritones to hold our horns up and maybe stop those pansy trumpets and mellos from complaining so much.

Kinda on the subject, have you seen the baritones that you rest on your shoulders like a contrabass? Duncanville is marching those this year.

I've heard of them. "Convertabile" euphoniums/baritones, right?

Should look pretty cool, actually.

Hmmm.... Baritones with out the extra arm stress and bad posture... sounds good... I only know the posture thing because i marched the Dynasty brand Euphonium last season and part of this season and wow if you have bad posture it will kill you... So I salute to whoever made thouse convertable baritones they are a pretty kewl thing...

But... do they still sound the same as a regular Baritone?? but it also it gives the little brass instruments more reason to complain about the weight of their instruments.

I like baritones. I can hold up a baritone for about 30 minutes, and my arms are weaker than twigs.

Wtballs, 30 minutes? I call shenanigans, how can you do that and still have arms?? :blink:

Hi hi hi, hi, h-hi... hi hi. >______>

HI ZACH, HIHI. HI, hih, Hihi hi hi!

Seriously though, I can't believe that someone could hold a marching baritone up for 30 minutes straight. And I'm talking without faltering at all.

Next year, I'm hoping that the section leaders will put ankle weights on their horns, as well as all of the freshman. This would make 1) freshman stronger 2) section leaders stronger, and 3) be a very easy diciplinary action- just change the troublemaker's horn with a freshman's! Wouldn't they feel smart then? -_-

so im super pissed off cuz we finnaly got new silver tubas(even though i play t-pet) but the funny thing is they will not use them till the next state year...

another thing that im mad about is that next year my brother ( a trombone ) will be the baritone section leader... he will only be a junior... i wasnt a section leader till i was a senior :angry: ...

In response to Travis and a few other people's posts:

OMG TROMBONES > EUPHONIUMS! STOP YOUR LIEEZZZZ!!!!

</my narrow-minded, trombone-biased point of view>
