FunkyFlute07 Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 hmm. well. i know klarfeld wrote our music. our BD talked about Mr. Vohlmer's ideas for the show. gosh. but i really dont know who is writing our drill. Quote
mnkyman Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 same as always music: Mark Higginbottom drill: Michael Gaines Quote
Fortisimo Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Shouldn't this thread be in the general music forum? Or maybe even the repertoire forum? This is just people talking about professional arrangers etc, and not about actually composing or arranging, or even techniques thereof. I could be wrong though... Quote
mnkyman Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 ^lol dont be mad u dont own this section of the forums lol and its about arrangers so it falls under " Drill Writers, Arrangers, and Composers Corner" Quote
Fortisimo Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Lol, I know, it just seems like this is a forum about actually doing that stuff, not who does it. Quote
mnkyman Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 lol ya hey i got a copy of fl studio im having trouble actually writing music with it..lol some help maybe - actually imma open another thread for that Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Im not sure about this year actually. 05 was Don Hill for music and Myron Rosander for drill. I know the music is still Hill but im not sure about drill. Im also pretty sure we are no longer using Jim Casella *Our guard is done by Wes Cartwright Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Music arranged/composed by Alan Sharps, and drill/colorguard by Mike Sloan (sp?). Yes, both are Churchill guys. We also have our directors writing small parts into the music, and one of our directors writes the front ensemble (pit) parts. Quote
MartinHorn Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 J.D. Shaw, who did our music last year, is our arranger for this year. Quote
Trumpet Master Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 After talking with my BD, it would seem that our show concept would have been Churchill's show this year but Mike gave it to us, he was just here in S. Texas this past week a tour school. Quote

Amusicman Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Quote Music arranged/composed by Alan Sharps, and drill/colorguard by Mike Sloan (sp?). Yes, both are Churchill guys. I thought Mark Higginbottom has done Churchill's shows for the past several years? Quote

Yeah, he's done their music...the guys I am refering are directors for Churchill. I just brought out that point so that all the people at Churchill wouldn't have to say "hey...those names look VERY familiar..." because I know if I saw one of my directors' names on here, I would say the same. Fortisimo Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Well, we actually have a pretty large design team, but for these two specific positions JD Shaw is our arranger (Phantom Regiment arranger) and Jeff Gentry is our drill writer (I dunno where he hails from- he is just sorta there, but he's cool).
