mnkyman Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 so i got a copy of it but... im having trouble actually writing music is there a way i can get a staff or something lol can i get more instruments? is there a way i can write the music in finale and render the midi in FL Studio? and tutorials are welcome thanks Quote
Fortisimo Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 FL is a bit more technical at first than other music composition software setups. Check out this getting started guide; FL Getting Started Guide. You don't use a staff, you use the 'piano roll', which basically looks like a 10 or 11 octave piano with a grid next to it divided into 16th notes. It's really pretty self-explanatory. Anyways, check out the geting started guide and also look at the included sample projects (they're in the folder FL->data->projects->cool stuff). hgfjhsdfjf Quote
mnkyman Posted June 22, 2006 Author Posted June 22, 2006 is there a place to get more instruments/channels to use in FL??? cause i cant seem to find any of the cool things yall put into your songs Quote
Fortisimo Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Ummmmm the internet? And what kind of cool stuff are you refering to? You may need to research VST instruments. For Orchestral, which is qwat I use for my show renderings can be gotten from various bit torrents and other such shady methods. Quote
mnkyman Posted July 2, 2006 Author Posted July 2, 2006 whats the names ? and ill look it up on torrentportal Quote
Fortisimo Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Edirol Orchestral for band stuff... Hypersonic for various other synths (a number of really good drum kits there).... I've heard Zeta is a good all around synth... oh, and this comes with FL, but I would read up on sytrus and play around with it alot- you can get some really cool sounds out of that thing. Maverick27 Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Sytrus is amazing, I bought FL Producer edition, but haven't spent the $150+ to get sytrus officially, but what you can do is make songs with sytrus on, render them as mp3s with them, but then just replace them with a free channel when you save them. Check out some of my stuff using FL if you want: Here I've been at it for almost a year now, just toy around and learn FL yourself is the best way. Quote
percussioninstructor Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 FL Studio is a pain to write with! unless your writing...well obviously "techno" based music. Its all duple feel..maybe im retarded...or dont have the knowledge of the program...but just try to drop a triplet in a line of 8th notes...i cant do it...can you? Quote
Fortisimo Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 ...yeah, actually. In fact, beyond that I can make sextuple, and well, I can free write abstract rythms that would be basically impossible in traditional notation. Quote
