Keyboard_Countessa Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Does anyone know if this will be open to the general public? I've tried to find out on the website, but it sounds like you have to be a registered participant or something of the like. Quote
G'townPIT Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Quote Does anyone know if this will be open to the general public? I've tried to find out on the website, but it sounds like you have to be a registered participant or something of the like. You have to become a member of PAS in order to go to the convention. The cheapest way to become a member is to become an ePAS member. It's only $28, and get's you to the members only section of the PAS site. And then you can register for the conference onsite or online. Quote
EODrillDesigner98 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Hey! PASIC Attendettes We are over 3 months left before the big event. Quote
G'townPIT Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 So I know that only 7 full high school drumlines are allowed to go to PASIC. Here's all I've been able to find out from this thread: Georgetown Plano East Trinity Brazoswood Flower Mound Marcus ??? Quote

m2m Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 PAS sponsors the International Percussion Ensemble Competition (previously called the "Call for Tapes" Contest). For this contest, a group submits up to 30 minutes of their best recordings from the previous 12 months. To win this contest is perhaps the highest honor for high school percussionists. 3 winners are chosen every year and they are invited to perform in a Showcase Concert at PASIC that year. This year's winners were: Brazoswood HS, Clute, TX - Saturday, Nov 11th @ 9:00 AM Trinity HS, Euless, TX - Friday, Nov 10th @ 9:00 AM Plano East HS, Plano, TX - Thursday, Nov 11th @ 9:00 AM All TX schools won even though the contest is open to the planet Earth! The Marching Festival participants are simply a first come, first serve group that any school can enter. Not to say that winning that contest at PASIC is small change. Marcus HS is the perennial winner. I think the only group to ever beat them was Plano HS in 1998, not 100% sure about that. Some people will be bringing the heat this year as there are some VERY good drumlines entered into the contest. Hope to see some of you at PASIC. Mike Mathew Trinity HS Director of Percussion Quote

m2m Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Quote If they select the winners during the end of spring semester, per say, and PASIC is in November, would the graduating seniors perform, or just current students? The PAS Percussion Ensemble Committee members judge the recordings during May somtime and get out results at the end of May/beginning of June. Seniors on the recording do not get to play usually. We could have gotten a couple of ours there, but they were on the winning recording, so that's a high honor in itself! PASIC, as always, was a good time. Keiko Abe's masterclass was amazing. U of Houston's Showcase Concert was amazing. Fun times. Quote
