CHS King Mello Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 it's been confirmed on the BD forum that's what they are wearing this year. BD had better be amazing this year, to make up for such a crapshot uniform. and that's all I'm going to say. -C Quote
Xenon Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 So, basically they went back to their old uniforms with some color changes and awful stripes. Quote
manuel_pablo Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Looks like they were attacked by a random mob of people with white tape...so...me no like very much. Quote
mbui Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Looks like someone has been playing with white guard tape..... Quote
Lustra.exe Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 maybe they are just trying to make a splash in the 'DOING SOMETHING NEW' world. alot of things are changing and maybe they feel like they want to be noticed too. childish? perhaps. but it's probably not even the real reason. it makes me laugh though to think so scenarios like that. it's change, people will notice, and they'll be the talk of the day/week/season. it has been shown effective seeing as it is in band forums already. Xenon Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Lustra.exe said: it has been shown effective seeing as it is in band forums already. I can't think of any band uniforms with stripes running from the neck to the hand. Quote
MartinHorn Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 It'll probably look better with the hat and plume. Quote
Xenon Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I bet the hat has a stripe on it running up the sides and across the top, with a white plume to top it off. Edit: And why does that guy have a Pin Stripe (I just realized that was the show name) down his left leg, but the others behind him don't? Quote
CHS King Mello Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 that's a picture from family day. Tim Jackson is in Blue Devils A Corps. The one with the blue tenors in the background is from the B corps, and the black tenors are from the C corps. IMO, BD messed up. Why in heavens name would you switch from a unifrom that resembled a tux (with pinstripes and all) to a unifrom that looks like a jogging suit FOR A GODFATHER SHOW? That is, unless BD decided to change the show last minute to The Amazing Race. -C Quote
mbui Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Not a fan of the uniform so far however.... I will reserve further judgement until I see the corps next weekend in California. What matters most is how the uniforms looks on the field and how it enhances the visual design of the show. Something that we have yet to see. Quote
CHS King Mello Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 opinion sort of changed with seein this picture of the brass. sort of looks cool as a whole. You can see the stripe in the middle of the jacket is supposed to connect with the one on the pants. -C Quote
Danpod Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I like this "Track Suit" idea. Individually, it will look kind of funky at first but on the field, it looks very distinctive. Can't wait to see these uniforms in action NEXT WEEK!!!!!! Quote
CHS King Mello Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 Dan... you have a strange point of view... not that I dont respect it... just different. -C Quote
Danpod Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I'm more in the middle of the road on this issue than anything else. I'm still waiting to see the uniform in motion. Let's not forget that The Cadets in 2005 had the most unpopular uniform addition in the history of Drum Corps because some said they were "Slapping tradition in the face by disgracing the oldest uniform in Drum Corps." The utilized their "unpopular" uniform change to near perfection during their show, winning the World Championship with the highest score in DCI History. If The Blue Devils use the uniform to their advantage (And yes, there is such a thing!) they will take their clean visual reputation to a higher level. I have a feeling that The Blue Devils know what they are doing with the stripes. Seeing is will definitely lead to believe in this situation. Quote
TX Suh-nare Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I can't tell what's uglier...the uniforms, or those tenors. Oh my GOSH those are nasty Dy-Nastys! Quote
euro_euph06 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I think that people should reserve their judgements until they see them in motion. Besides, in the past BD has only placed outside of the top four once ('91). They have had multiple uniform changes. It wont affect them or the scores. Plus...two words...THE GODFATHER!!! Quote
Lustra.exe Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 though it would be more appropriate for this show if they went with their old school pin stripe uni's. pin stripes say italian mob more than track suits do. Quote
Danpod Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Track Suit Riot.....OH YEAH!!!!!!! Throw back a bottle of beer... Quote
