aaron067 Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Even though Martin didn't advance, that performance of Music for Prague was almost picture-perfect. You should all be extremely proud of pulling off such a difficult piece at an extremely high calibre! Quote

pianomusicman89 Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 does anyone know what plano east is playing? and GO MARCUS! Quote
Xenon Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Plano East is playing: - Glory of the Yankee Navy (John Philip Sousa/Frederick Fennell) - Laboring Songs (Dan Welcher) - Symphony in Bb for Band (Hindemith) That is the exact same as Duncanville's program when they won Honor Band in 1998. Marcus is playing: - Finale from Symphony No. 2 (Ives/Elkus) - Bells for Stokowski (Daugherty) - March, Op. 99 (Prokofiev/Yoder) Quote
pianomusicman89 Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 What happened to Duncanville? They went to Midwest this year and I expected that they would be on their way to state especially with the high caliber music they played this year. Interesting. oh, and Marcus' March, Op 99 and Bells for Stokowski are AMAZING. They have some of the best trumpet players. Too bad that they just graduated. Quote

By rule, they can not compete in the next one. Quote
pianomusicman89 Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 You know the rule that if your head director is not going to be at your school in the following year, you cannot compete in the Honor Band submission? well, Marcus' head band director resighed in the middle of the school year. Could Marcus be disqualified because two different directors headed the Wind Symphony, the one that submitted the honor band tape? Quote
Xenon Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 I believe that (don't quote me on this) so long as the director that was on the stage for the recordings is still at the school then it is ok. Quote

Did Clear Lake drop? And Clear Creek fill in and move on to state? Cause I thought it was Kingwood and Clear Lake from Region 19... ??? Quote
