Hawkeye Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 The description says it all. How does your band move equipment and music instruments from your school to a contest or game? Does your band own a trailer, rents, etc.? Also, do students or parent volunteers handle the instruments/equipment? For my band, we have a 57' semi trailer and our own truck to pull it. The pit equipment is moved by parents, with the instruments, equipment, and props loaded and offloaded by a student crew. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 We have a equipment trailer. We have a band aide that is any kid from high school that wants to do it load the eqipment and all that stuff. We call him the band B*tch. lol. Quote
G'townPIT Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 We actually have 3 helicopters to load our stuff on to. Quote
FunkyFlute07 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 well, we have a HUGE trailer...like one of those HUGE 18 wheel things. its huge for marching season...along with an equipment manager and many students to assist him. plus parents. but we also have a small trailer and a truck to go to contest in the spring too. ROFL we got a trailer 3 years ago but we still require another small rental truck to carry extra stuff before the trialer we had 3 of those rental dealys oh ya and the percussionists and parents move the stuff Quote
MartinHorn Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Our band has harnessed the power of wormholes to transport our equipment. We have lost only 15 freshman thus far. Quote
Hawkeye Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 Freshmen go in, but they don't come out, lol. Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Since about 95% of my band is Mexican or hispanic (myself included), we just stick with our customary travel measures and see how much people/equipment we can stuff in one bus. We are down to 3 buses for a 200+ member band, props, drumline equipment, front ensemble, and auxilary stuff. If we need more room, we just make the freshmen ride on the top of the bus. Quote

So that's all the people in one bus and the other two are for equipment? Quote

We put about 60-70 people on a bus and THEN we cram equipment in. We Mexican folk are smarter than they give us credit for Quote

Oh, and the freshmen come out of our wormholes, but they are too young sometimes to start with, and they travel so quickly that they come out as dying fetuses as they have traveled back in time. Hawkeye Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 Time travel wormholes, eh? About how many years backward does it go?, might reuse veteran marchers (the good ones) over and over... Quote
sax5warrior Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 nice trumpetman, i hear ya we have the district truck, similar to one of them Bright Trailers Quote
Trumpeter07 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 We have just one trailor that everything hardly fits on. I have the task of finding out HOW to put everything on the trailor. Yes that means its completely run by us the students with me as the leader. It's a fun job that i wanted so i like it. Quote
Xukaniz Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 18 wheeler that barely carries all of our stuff, with a 2nd story... Its really pretty nice. Quote

artishard Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 we have a moving truck. we don't have an 18 wheeler like other schools, because that would most definitely take up a lot of room at football games, and would be really bad to find parents to drive it and stuff.. Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Freshmen year we had an equipment bus for large instruments/guard stuff/battery instruments and another one for the pit. Now the pit gets a small truck with a motorized lift. Makes loading a heck of a lot easier, since the pit has to load their own stuff (although after performances the pit dads often help). We have a student loading crew that handles the stuff for the equipment bus. Quote
