trumpetman1288 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 *in a chord* "dun da" What are you doing today? Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Absoutly nothing... Well exept practice. How bout you? Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Probably going to work, then practicing state music...hopefully I don't freak out and get nervous like I have EVERY TIME that I try out. What is the limit of an undefined variable? Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 There is no limit? Lol... I have no clue. Have you ever made all-state? Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Heck, if I could make it past REGION without bailing, I would be happy. It's so sad....I sat as a lead player my sophomore year at my school. This year I am probably going to be either 1st or 2nd chair depending on how things go...but man, I just wish I could not freak out at region tryouts...oh well. Do you play DDR, and if so, how good are you? Quote
I<3thebox Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Haha good joke. I'm bad - and nore do I actually one a gaming console of any type whatsoever (Indeed I am lame) 2. (following up on my promise) Q. Why did the woman cross the road? A. Who cares? Why wasn't she in the KITCHEN! ... as terrible as that is Does this dress make me look fat? Quote
I<3thebox Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 To mock silly teen girls and their mis-guided obsession with their weight. Why do my posts make me look like a sexist? lol Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Cus you made them that way... lol. Why do I get a red ring around my lips after I practice? Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 because you're using the horrid "left hand technique"...force yourself not to push your mouthpiece into your face so hard. its a hard habbit to break, i know, but give it a shot :-D Does playing lead trumpet make you a bad***? Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Yes (Hmm thanks I will try that) Do you like "Wicked"? Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Yes...yes, I do like being WICKED... OK, very corny, but I don't know this "wicked" you speak of, sadly. If it is on TV, chances are that I don't even know that it exists. The TV in my room is merely for decoration. Does this make me crazy? Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Haha. No. I dont watch TV to much either and "Wicked" is a musical. Lol When do you start school? Quote
I<3thebox Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Blargh - too soon. August 15th? Actually we usually start on a Tuesday but I've seen 2 calendars with a Wednesday start so... Idk. Heres a good one: A. The sun is a star B. The one of these statements is false C. 2 of these statements are true. Which one is a false statement? PS I dont know if this has a real answer. There is a format of 3 statements that ends in a stalemate I forgot what its called oh yeah some Greek guy's "Paradox" anywho... if anyone can figure it out - props to them Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Well, it comes down to what we interpret to be acceptable. If you want to interpret through philosophy that the sun is not REALLY a star, nor that it actually exists, then the false statement would be A. If don't want to go that route and go through customary thinking, then you have no real answer. If the sun is a star, then B cannot be true if C is true, and vice versa. Like I said...it all comes down to "what is real" Do you think synth sounds belong in a marching band setting? Quote
I<3thebox Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 It depends. Good question though. My personal opinion is that it depends what the band is aiming for. Reagan HS for instance is (IMO) a superbe executor of what I call a "Show show" an actual marching SHOW. Other bands (for instance... Duncanville) typically do a Marching... "concert" for lack of a better word - lets make that Thematic Concert. A synthesizer can be used in any setting as long as it serves a purpose. If Duncanville just randomly added a Synthesizer solo of ... Bolero (sorry random lol) in the middle of their show *ahem* Thematic Marching Concert ... then No. Or if Reagan were to use the Synthesizer throughout the ENTIRE SHOW or make it an extremely integral part (turning a Show into a Synth Concerto - thus detracting from people playing on the field) then also No. but other than that I think its cool as long as people arent stupid about it, or use it as a crutch (for instance to add bass b/c a band has 6 tubas and really needs 12) sorry long answer lol. Ok and I thought about the "Paradox" for a bit. You could say that B and C are BOTH false and be logically justified. If B is wrong, then either 3, 2, or No statements are false, meaning that C is wrong b/c we know (within reason) that A is right. And C says 2 statements are true, which we no know is false - A is true and B and C are false Why am I so lame as to spend my time writing paragraphs about trivial stuff? Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Because that's what makes you unique. What do you think of the Transformers movie that they are making? Quote
MartinHorn Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I heard they made changes to Optimus Prime, but I will reserve my judgement until I can see more content. What did you think of the overly dramatic preview? Me and Fortisimo cracked up. Quote
FunkyFlute07 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 definately pepsi what is there to do at 1:44 AM. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Listen to music and eat! Lol. So what are you goin?! Quote
Claritone Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Nothing. How come no one ever uses the smiley? Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Maybe they dont know about it. Why am I eating breakfast at 3 P.M? Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Because you can. Would you consider someone a few inches taller than 6 feet to be a tall person? Quote
x04ty29er Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I would. I would consider someone who was 6 ft to be a tall person, but that is because I'm only ~5'4" Why am I so short? Quote
