euro_euph06 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 From the DCI.org website: Division I rankings: July 16-22 7/24/2006 -- 9:33 AM CST Current Division I rankings as determined by the average scores from July 16-22. These rankings are calculated by Drum Corps International at the end of each week of the Summer Music Games Tour and used to determine the order of appearance at DCI major events. The Quote
mbui Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 With the current system in place... The Boston Crusaders got the shaft. Big time. Not only did they 2 1/2 point the Madison Scouts in San Antonio but....they don't get to participate in this Friday's top 8 event in Tennessee and they have to qualify for the evening show at the Atlanta Regional on Saturday?? I don't know why we use numbers from different competitions to determine this, when on one night we had every Division I corps compete and determined the top eight on the field. It seems like a better way to go about things. Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Yeah thats pretty cheap. Same with SCV beating Crown the last two times they have met but at least SCV gets to go to this year. Quote
EODrillDesigner98 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I believe that this year SCVanguard is going to do alot better then last year and will most probably rank in the top 20. Quote

Aegis Fang Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 that music owns... end of story... as far as I can tell, he does a pretty good job. Quote
Fortisimo Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Lol, its funny, when I went to DCI San Antonio and SCV performed I felt like I was listening to the shows we played my freshman and sophmore years- get it? They have many identical chord progressions. But, it was actually a joke. (Phantom's music is better- JD Shaw owns Poulan though- and that's no joke. And that's why we switched to him) Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 QUOTE (Fortisimo @ Jul 30 2006, 11:03 PM) (Phantom's music is better- JD Shaw owns Poulan though- and that's no joke. And that's why we switched to him) I agree, but the judges don't seem to mind Poulans repetitiveness. And neither do I. Though I will say it is REALLY apparent this year. Quote

bluebellbrass07 Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 I find Mark Higginbotham to be the most annoyingly (is that a word) repetitive arranger there is. Quote
