bluebellbrass07 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 What format do you need to convert to and from? Quote
whitewing09 Posted July 27, 2006 Author Posted July 27, 2006 umm the thing is a divx file. but not a avi (that my computer understands anyway)and i need it to be an avi(that my computer understands) Quote
Xenon Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 It sounds like it is probably an xvid or something. I suggest downloading Koepi's binaries of xvid. You should be able to play it then. Quote
whitewing09 Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 Um it plays and all that it just like freezes alittle more then usual umm not to be cheap but is this like free. lol im not allowed to do stuff online with money Quote
Clarinot Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 DivX is the best quality codec for any marching video you will find. Converting to plain .avi will either multiply the space requirement by 10 if you keep the same quality, or reduce it to crappy quality. Just go to www.divx.com and download the free 6.2 player and codec. I should mention that the player is free. There is some option for Pro that costs money, but you get what you need for free. Quote
x04ty29er Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I sould point out that avi is a file type and not a compression codec. If you compress a video using Xvid or Divx, the file extention is avi (unless you actually make it a .divx file which is just stupid; not as compatible). If you have a good codec, you can easily fit 2hrs into 700 mb with almost dvd quality., so marching videos shouldn't be a problem. Quote
whitewing09 Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 Ya i downloaded it from that reagan site and it came out just .divx and i found a converter but it always stops 19% like it wont go on. and that codec thingy didnt work lol its still screwy Quote
x04ty29er Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 If I am remebering correctly, .divx files you can just rename as . avi and it will work (I think, not a positive) Quote
whitewing09 Posted August 7, 2006 Author Posted August 7, 2006 are you serious?? wow i didnt think the name had anything to do withit but then again im soo retarded when looking beyond the basics of using a computer Quote
