Umm ya i've had the top 10 5A state finalist for ever. and this one thing about it buggs me. its a video but it doesnt like show up as one. idk how to explain it. anyway does anyone know where i could get a good FREE video or media converter thingy. Ya i know i could google it but crap i cant find anything good.

It sounds like it is probably an xvid or something. I suggest downloading Koepi's binaries of xvid.

 

You should be able to play it then.

DivX is the best quality codec for any marching video you will find. Converting to plain .avi will either multiply the space requirement by 10 if you keep the same quality, or reduce it to crappy quality.

 

Just go to www.divx.com and download the free 6.2 player and codec. I should mention that the player is free. There is some option for Pro that costs money, but you get what you need for free.

I sould point out that avi is a file type and not a compression codec. If you compress a video using Xvid or Divx, the file extention is avi (unless you actually make it a .divx file which is just stupid; not as compatible). If you have a good codec, you can easily fit 2hrs into 700 mb with almost dvd quality., so marching videos shouldn't be a problem.

Ya i downloaded it from that reagan site and it came out just .divx and i found a converter but it always stops 19% like it wont go on. and that codec thingy didnt work lol its still screwy
