Trumpet Master Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Whatever, it's just football right. Its all about the bands on this board!!! lol Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 But one of the miseries of band (or blessings if you are really into football) is having to watch your team be destroyed. You know what I am talking about...all those stories in the stands of the band saying "man, I should be in there." I know I have said that at least once or twice. Quote
Trumpet Master Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 True, last year our some of us band kids played against our JV team outside our band hall. They were district champs if i'm not mistaken, but we beat them. They were not used to playing tackle without pads on. Score 1 for the brass and drumline! Quote

trumpetman1288 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Ha ha...nice. A lot of guys in our band play football before games or just whenever at someone's house (this person has a HUGE backyard...the size of a legit football field). We have so many guys that would outdo receivers and backs on our varsity level. Not to mention that a lot of starters from junior high and freshman year, myself included, quit playing football. Some of us do go play the basketball team during open gym and we win sometimes. Just goes to show how greatly conditioned all us band people are. I wish we did that though...it'd be fun to play some football players in a game. Oh, since this is a rivalry post *ahem* I should include (because I forgot about them) Memorial because of that game we had with them last year in which we won because of a controversial fumble at the end of the 4th quarter (the call was correct, it WAS a fumble, you can see for yourself on youtube.com, check under "Bradley Stephens" and look at the Bradley Stephens highlight film) and we scored in overtime and won. Aside from that game, every single time we have played Memorial, we have scored at least 40 points. The first time was 42, the second was 74, and this past time was 48. They have gotten closer everytime, first time for them was 0, second was 35, and this past one was 42. I think they will win the game this year. Quote

So, they want to win so that they have bragging rights Quote
mafia575 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 ok so in the band terms Cy-Falls (my school) and Langham Creek. Football terms Falls and Jersey Village. i dont know why its JV since we have beaten them sincless for the last few years at football. but yeah thats what i got.... so yeah.... Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 In high school the biggest rivalry I know of was against Cy-Fair, but it was (mostly) friendly. Now that I've graduated I get to experience UT's rivalries against A&M and OU. (HOOK 'EM HORNS! ) Quote

Arlington tends to follow the rule about Band and Football (You can't have a good band and a good football team) except for Seguin. Hopefully they'll move up to 5A in 2008. I wonder how it will for Arlington be when Seguin does move up to 5A. Quote
Nancy08 Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Wow old topic. Yeah our rival is Cedar Park, and eventually Vista Ridge, but I doubt it'll grow to the rivalry we have w/ CP... Quote

borchnork Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 We have a rivalry w/ Frisco High. We should probably have one w/ Liberty High as well, but we're such good friends with the kids there, and they are only 3A so there's a good partnership between us. Quote
borchnork Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 hah, I remember when we played them in football. All their kids were like "OMG! CENTENNIAL IS SOO COOL! I WANNA GO TO CENTENNIAL!" it got rather annoying, knowing that they were mocking us. Quote
crazyjakeup Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 they are sooo gayy... they think they are better than us but they cant make state(although they did get 1st alt.)... they sux... they are like our annoing little bro.... Quote

borchnork Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 I really hope to see conally and hendrickson sometime soon. I've heard a lot about them in this forum, and I'm very intrigued. Does anybody know where I can find some video? Quote
M1KH4J157 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Westlake, I'd imagine. Although Round Rock and McNeil are possible as well. Quote
