Lustra.exe Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 i voted snare... but that's just my bias. i think basslines are really sweet though. a good baseline is really impressive. Quote
Claritone Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 I voted snare... even though I'm not on drumline and I dont really know anything about drumline... Quote
springbassliner26 Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 I voted bass. I'm completely biased though. I do prefer bass anyways though, because bass is all about chops and brains, you don't have all these flashy stick tricks and arounds that snares and tenors have. Of course, a good drumline smokes without having all that stuff. Chops, not props. That's my overall stance. Quote
whitewing09 Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 i think theyre all good but i think tenor Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 I am weird because this is how I listen to drumlines...I put the sound of the tenors and snares together and I count the bass as their own group. I am not fond of the snare sound by itself, but to me, it's like the icing on the cake; it only makes it sound better. The tenors...I think it looks cool to play, but I don't like the sound of those drums for some reason...I think it's because they are too bright. Bass....like mentioned before, a clean bassline is AWESOME. When you can get a bassline that sounds like it is one person playing 5 different drums rather than 5 people trying to fit a rhythm together, then that is a pretty wicked bassline. So in short, if I had my pick, bass Quote
whitewing09 Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 a good pit is also good i never really consider them but theyre all really good Quote
G'townPIT Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 A pit has so much more musical capability considering it has multiple and different voices. But if you had to base this on sweetness factor, snare wins. Quote

hawksnare08 Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Althought I really loved bassline my freshman year, I had to pick snare. It's what I had always wanted to play ever since I found out about marching band in middle school. Yay snare! Quote

Keyboard_Countessa Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 I think it's safe to say I was extremely biased when voting for this particular poll. Quote
whitewing09 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 omg its sooo much fun playing the quads!!! and the base drum Quote
QuadraticBeats Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 The drums of many names. Quads. Tenors. Multi-toms... what ever pleases you the most at the given moment. My evidence why? Vic Firth DCI 2006- I&E- Tim Jackson of the Blue Devils, 1st Place Multi-tenor Individuals This year's his ageout year, after four years of straight individuals victories... I'd like to see anybody try anything that interesting on snare Quote
whitewing09 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 dude i think snare is over rated lol just my opinion so please dont try putting me down or proving me wrong. i mean its really technical and you cant have a show without em but ya its really fun playing quads and bass drums i mean lol i dont know why Quote
