As a former Marcus student (not graduated haha, transferred schools), I talked to some of the other people (and I believe that the directors said something similar to what I heard when I was a freshman), but I think it was every 4 years I believe (any Marcus alumni or band parents please correct me if I am wrong) that Marcus goes to Grand Nationals.

Yes, Marcus goes every 4 years.  Was there in 2021 (6th place) and will be there in 2025.

not a lot compared to last year. will definetly be cheering for Leander and Cedar Park

I reckon that's still more than what Texas averagely takes. Last year was the most #TeamTexas has sent. There's been times that TX has had 1, or even 0 reps at Grand Nats.

Perhaps you meant to say they weren't sending as much top-heavy groups compared to other years. Either way, the groups that will be in attendance will do great.

There's not a single 6A school from Texas going to Grand Nats this year. UIL being every year now makes it really difficult for bands to do BOA San Antonio, UIL State Championship, and Grand Nats. Not only is it expensive, but that's just exhausting. Hats off to the bands who are doing it this year and those bands that do it every year. But I think we're going to see less of the big Texas schools/bands going to Indy from now on.

Prosper and Bridgeland are actually going this year, and I expect both as well as our other Tx bands to do very well!!

i am confident that all 6 texas bands will at least make semifinals, with cedar park, leander, and bridgeland being locks for finals imo. i feel like argyle, prosper, and friendswood are all finals caliber bands as well but I think that it'll be tougher for them to break into that upper ceiling.

I'd be a little shocked if Prosper didn't get in, at least imo. I feel like it's more of a Boa than UIL show and seeing how they did at state with a really strong performance in semis I see them getting in fs. Argyle and F-Wood should definitely make semis, at least I hope so. If Tarpon wasn't here, I feel like Argyle would have a really strong shot at the 2A rep, hopefully their at least second or 3rd in class.

Also, good luck to all our Tx bands today and tomorrow, as well as everyone else! Will be watching semis and finals, super excited for the weekend!!

Really nice job from Friendswood there, I never got a chance to see it at State.
