Maybe team Texas will take the music caption home once again. We will have to wait and see though. On a side note. UIL please just one season let the texas bands practice more than 8 hours so they can be visually clean so EVERYONE can go that year because they're cleaner and then grand nats just becomes a blood bath will all the power houses attending. I think that would be awesome. We will always be a tad bit dirty on the visual end - but - thankful for our “efficiency rule” that prevents marching band from taking over our lives. utee94, Bdc22, drumline8 and 1 other 4 Quote
GeekBoy54 Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Avon's energy was off the charts! They performed that show like it was the last thing they'd ever do! That was divine. I don't really have much else to say! WanderingTraveler 1 Quote

Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted November 17, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 17, 2024 Well ladies and gentlemen, presenting you 2024 boa grand national champions.....Jk BA is still in the convo. No words, that's the definition of executing to the highest level, and that's what Avon just did. I still see music going somewhere else, but they will take visual and GE for sure (unless by the power of the Gods Tarpon cooks harder than that). I'm speechless, that was just near perfect, all of it, and I love it so so much. Thank you Avon for pushing boundaries this year, look great, sound great, and guard is great. I see them at the top for a while if they continue to have these stellar show designs, fantastic job Avon!! WanderingTraveler, BOABuff and AvonDad 3 Quote

Tubalord11 Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Fantastic performance from Tarpon Springs to close out finals!!! The amount of Raw GE this group is able to create is unmatched, literally the HS version of BD. Some insane musical selections, and they are executing extremely high. Love all of it, from that super pretty ballad, amazing job soloists btw, too that sick low brass feature, to the WW's just nailing those technical passages with so much ease, it's unlike any other. Not to mention, that guard is just ridiculous, though everyone here has an extremely strong guard. Visually so so clean, some really hard writing that they nailed. I will admit, I personally didn't get that "Oof" that I did from the other big 3, but that could just be me, and I'd love for them to medal, fantastic performance Tarpon Springs!!! Quote
GeekBoy54 Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Ah, Tarpon Springs. The (not-so) little teched-out band that could! You never fail to amaze me with your nonstop energy and passions. What an incredible way to close out such a great grand national finals! Quote
cheeto2401 Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 tarpon springs being the last ever high school band (correct me if im wrong) to close out the 2024 marching season is so sad yet so amazing, i loved everyones energy today and i'll be glad to see next years shows, regionals, super regionals, and grand nats shows, i cannot wait!!! Speaking of "not so little" I was trying to count and see if Tarpon may have even had more winds on the field than Leander tonight. Leander may have fielded the smallest band in finals. Quote
Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted November 17, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 17, 2024 Okay everyone, that does it for me for now. Again, I'll be watching the results when I get back, could be a minute though. Before I go, some words. Thank you one to all the amazing people of this website for being so awesome this season!! I was blessed to be able to cover a good amount this season, but I really appreciate those posting at the other comps, it's always great getting to read what everyone thinks, as well as getting to learn from some of the best. Next, to all the kiddos. Thank you for your dedication and hard work this season. It's really crazy to believe that it's over, but here we are. This season felt different to me personally, but in a good way. I feel like everyone was at the top of their game, with some groups having historic seasons. You can't find any other SR or big band comp where the first 10 or so groups are all high 80's and less than 1.5 points away from each other. It's what makes this sate the best, and I'm so grateful I got to watch so many of these bands develop in person over the season. Congratulations to everyone on your season. Next year might be by last super active season, hoping it the Boa shedule lines up well with football so I can go out (possibly) in a bang. Still a lot to figure out for me post-college, but I'm preparing to treat next year like the last big one for me as a spectator, at least for a while. But again, to the kids, ya'll have put on some unreal shows this season, the talent in Tx is off the charts at this point, everyone is just getting so good, and Ik next season will be even better. Now, with all that being said, here is my prediction for tonight (again, to be, and hopefully, wrong): 1. Avon (visual/ge) 2. Broken Arrow (music) 3. Carmel 4. Tarpon Springs 5. Cedar Park 6. William Mason 7. Castle 8. Leander 9. Bridgeland 10. Dobyns-Bennett 11. Prosper 12. American Fork BOABuff, BandMomSuperFan and WanderingTraveler 3 Quote

I don't know if it's permanent, but before the start of the season Chuck Henson shared on Facebook that he would not be announcing during the 2024 BOA season due to vision problems caused by retina issues, making it very difficult to read the scripts. It would be such a bummer if he wasn't able to return, he's been an inspiration and the voice of many marching generations to so many kids. We all wish him well. Dallas Hobbs 1 Quote
