Tubalord11 Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 WOW SEVEN LAKES!!!! That ensemble sound is just SO BIG, Holy Crap!! Yeah I honestly could see them not being the last in, because that performance was insanely good! I remember my friends and I being blown away by their volume, and I don’t know how they do it, but that brass is just pumping out some serious sound. Great work visually as well, percussion was also very clean, but my goodness 7L, amazing job tonight!! BandMama82 and mendoza 2 Quote

I'm confused....Does history matter in a contest or not? Are you invalidating some of McNeil's previous state appearances because they "have a long history of making state?" See the falacy in this arguement? I've heard that a bands reputation can influence the judges at UIL...moreso than other contests. So I wonder if those histories affected the scoring at UIL. Quote

lost Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 A bit lacking in ensemble moments from Cedar Ridge Quote
Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted November 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2024 Stellar performance from Cedar Ridge!!! They have really had such a huge comeback from last season, and it’s super clear that they weren’t happy with how it went. The visual GE in this show is insane, so much body work with them moving left to right, but they do it in so many different ways that it never becomes boring, and the pendulum’s they make in the drill are so cool. Never thought I’d hear wrecking ball as a ballad for a marching band, but their arrangement of it goes so well with the show, incredible musical run all around, fantastic job Raider Band!! Our guard also grew quite a bit in size but we lost so many band members due to lack of interest and participation- and seniors (we’re gonna lose so many seniors I just realized 😭) Also, thank you so muchh!!! You’re very kind ❤️❤️ I was blown away by Pearland!!! Y’all’s brass tone just knocks my socks off 😍 AWF2014 1 Quote

Maybe they didn’t want to make that commitment. However, you are not lacking for students who are interested! 😀425 kids is a lot! Congratulations on a great show. Quote

Tubalord11 Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 YES MCNEIL!!! Absolutely phenomenal performance to end the season on!!! What an opening statement, such big yet controlled sounds. Lovely soloists all around, that Sax quartet has been so much fun to listen to all season long, and they were great tonight. Love that Debussy ballad, so beautifully played. Tons of visual GE, and drill was very clean and effective. Wouldn’t be surprised if they place well tonight because that was fantastic, amazing job McNeil!!! Austen and CosmicLimbo 2 Quote

Leander didnt make finals, Bowie didnt make finals, Keller didnt make finals, Southlake Carroll didnt make finals. if McNeil made finals, its because they had an AMAZING run during prelims, and they should be very proud they made it. we never ever talk bad about other bands, because those bands put on a good performance and they make state for a reason.
