They just absolutely laid, it, Down!! That brass is just so so powerful but they have so much control. Guard is so effective in their staging, and despite the electric issues, they overcame them and showed them they belong with the big dogs here in Texas, wow!!! Thank you so so much for allowing me to hear yall for the first time!!! Killer of a show, could very well surprise us at St Louis!! Love you guys ❤️

I agree. It was a great show and beautifully performed. I loved it! Not at the same level musically as Marcus, but their trombone features were awesome and it was a really entertaining show. They absolutely nailed it.

Wakeland coming out really strong!! Brass was lighting it up, what a sound!! Soloists were beautiful as ever, and other than some minor cover down issues, they’re visual was great, super impressive and challenging stuff, classic Wakeland, definitely could see them medaling, 2-4 will be tight!!

Yeah I was part of that guard! Great warmup caused maybe the best (and a lot people getting hit by props ) performance this band/ organization has ever put on! it’s crazy that this version of the OWB is the one to get us finals in BOA!

Yeah so ummm I think I was just super tired when watching Wylie the 1st time bc that was simply incredible!!! SOOOO much visual GE, they really bring out the theme! Such a big sound, they really turned it on for finals, though maybe to much with that early entrance in one of the hits, nothing to major though. Guard was just magical, so so good, I’m happy them and Prosper are going back to back bc it’s really gonna probably be between them to see who takes that last spot at area imo, wow

It’s sporadic posting for me, but Bentonville, IMO, stole the show tonight. Music, props … such a great way to tell the story (my daughter had to point out to me the Princess Diana angle …). Just bloody brilliant!

Bentonville was AMAZING!! 🤩 

Did anyone catch the underlying theme of their show? The voice over was Princess Diana, the tiara represented Princess Diana, the uniforms where from an iconic sweater worn by Princess Diana, and finally, Princess Diana was the black sheep of the royal family.

Yeah Prosper just brought the heat!! I mean that ensemble sound is HUGE!! Amazing soloist, and that percussion has got some hard writing they are killing! Definitely a nats show, probably the best one their taking up to Indy! Tons of GE, just a really well designed show, will be fighting for state!

In bed and home. Congratulations to Marcus on the win, but wow, Wakeland was right there, not too surprised though! Didn’t expect Lonestar in 11th nor Mustang in 8th, but nothing else is to crazy considering how today went. If I’ve learned one thing from this comp, always expect what you don’t thinks gonna happen to happen, because anything surprising can and will happen! Prelims recap is, interesting to say the least, SUPER tight for those last 2 as we expected. Thanks again to our 5 out of state programs for coming down, PLEASE come back next fall! Good night everyone!!

goin' thru the finals recap.

Marcus won 2 of the 7 judges, both of em in the individual perf captions, which gave the big M a well-deserved win. 3rd in GE. butchya know what, watchin the finals on sub-HD hicam tonite (thanks box5) the weird caption splitting iiiisn't actually surprising to me. didn't think Marcus was ahead of the field visually or in GE. i still woulda had them 1st thru execution, but the show's individual parts, like brass, perc, woodwinds, guard, seemed greater than the overall product tonite, like a reverse synergy lol. like i just didn't really know what all the notes added up to, wanted to be a little more moved by it all. on the other hand, when u do focus on the individual parts, like that PERCUSSION, you're just like, lawd have mercy on everyone else when UIL rolls around.

meanwhile Bentonville i feel like communicated the intent a little better, but then didn't have the polish to win here, despiiiite that prelims music win lol.

LD Bell i was suuuper excited to see for the 1st time, always nostalgic to see Bell. i enjoyed the show, super colorful, and they executed well here. sometimes the staging just didn't look like the designer wrote it w/ those big tarps in mind, that's prob my biggest complaint. like, they framed the field in a particular way, shrank the stage, but then the drill wasn't in balance w/ it.

Prosper was awesome, not surprised to see them do very well. love me a good Sam Barber show. kind of a more elevated music program, requiring more patience. really liked how they moved around those lil yellow boxes, or whatever they were, to reshape the stage. made for some cool vis moments.

I decided to watch TMC instead of this one tonight. The results here are a tad surprising, at least based on, ahem, reputation, but they are what they are. Hopefully some videos leak soon! 👍
