JENKS!!! Everything about that show was so clean and well-rehearsed, from the opening hit (holy drumline) until the closer! Those kids should feel very proud of the show they just had!

Dont get me wrong, I loved the aesthetic a lot, but volume wasn’t particularly amazing and feet had a lot of errors, but even then thats holding them to a high standard, this competition is super difficult so were really looking at individuals and diagonals over just simply the forms, and if they went to most areas/state they would be a lock for finals/top half

YES Jenks!!! Super cool drill in the opener as the band comes together into the opening statement! Unfortunate electronic issues they thankfully got fixed. Really great sounds all around, though I feel like they could use some more volume at times. Really challenging stuff from the guard with some unfortunate drops but they can definitely clean tonight, assuming they make it, but they still had some amazing moments. Plenty of GE throughout, though sometimes sometimes hard to follow. Really great showing, these out of state programs aren’t playing around, amazing job Jenks!!

Rockwall HS- Valor and Virtue:

Great performance Rockwall!! Great stuff from the trumpets in the Festive Overture!! Lovely sounds from the C-net and WW’s during the rest of the Overture. Really love how they use the props to tell the story of the show, allowing us to feel the dark energy of Mars. Super cool drill with the moving box, very effective. Beautiful soloists in the ballad, and that closer was super cool, really effective drill. If anything hurts them it’ll be GE, but this is a really strong UIL show, could see them at state for sure, just gotta clean. Amazing job Rockwall!!

Marcus was really good—though not as untouchable as I may have thought going into today. I still expect them to win, but it may not be a clean sweep. It seems Marcus definitely understands the effect of a great ballad, and this year is no exception!

Definitely built for UIL and just getting to the cleaning stage. They will be ready for a run at State out of C on 11/2. Great strides since last week!

Marcus HS- In a New Light:

Unreal. Classic Marcus things right there. Amazing opening hit, such consistent and controlled sounds. So much musical demand throughout, and they make it seem so easy. Soloists putting on a masterclass, and that percussion, don’t get me started. Visually so clean, and super effective writing. That ballad was just melting faces, interesting ending, obviously not done, but yeah I think we’ve our winners 😂😂 they still play like an indoor ensemble, and oh that guard, UNREAL!!! Amazing job Marcus!!

Wylie East HS- the next step:

So ummm I don’t think they were happy about Conroe, bc OMG East!!! Opening hit was wow!!! Such amazing sounds all around, so mature and controlled but they have such a presence!! Super cool accordion solo, and that ballad was awesome!!! Beautiful work from the Trumpet and Bone soloists, super cool effect moving the stair stages together. Very clean visually, and could definitely see them again tonight, they were not messing around, really cool show! Incredible job East!!!

The complexity and intensity in the Marcus show blows me away! Definitely more edgy than I'm used to seeing from them. Love the opening and the brass is just menacing.

I thought they looked super clean today from formations to flags, and everything in between. The euphonium solo was haunting, and the echoic effect from the full band was brilliant.

I appreciated them finally flaunting their percussion a too.

Still waiting on those props though...

Loved the beginning! They looked and sounded really good. Thought their uniforms against the green field elevated the visual effect and kept it really clean.

I was excited to see what those stairs props were about but had to step away and didn't get back in my seat in time to catch the rest. Hoping I get another chance tonight!

I… just… thank you🥹 I can confirm we were in fact NOT happy about Conroe, and to hear an impressive improvement was made just means more than you know

of course if they make finals. Wakeland could definitely take the visual caption.

Keller Central: Nice preshow. Good trombone and flute. Good opening hit had a nice jazzy undertone.nice passing between low and high brass. Front ensemble had a nice flow. Brass didn't seem even in a few parts. I like the reoccurring flute melody. Backward marching a biit iffy one a few people. It's a hit vague on how the prope tie into the theming. Could use some cleaning.

Keller Central HS- another time, another place: 

MUCH improved from KC from Bedford!!! Great pre show into the opening hit!! Brass is killing those licks: Mellos, we hear you!!! Really lovely ballad, trumpet and flute soloists were great! I do still think they need some more cleaning, especially marching wise, some challenging drill at times. Still great performance overall KC!!

Sousaphones! Alright nice feature. String opening hit! Super powerful brass moments! Great use of the field space. Small technical issue I think? Unless it was just quiet. Alright trombones! Wow, that was great! I loved the theming!
