I wouldn't be surprised if flomo or Hebron or any one of four or five bands won it all.

crunchycookie3
I think tomorrow will give us the best prelims and finals of a BOA regional ever! Having seen these shows, I have no idea how it could shake out. Lots of bands have things to say here: Forney and Lone Star are looking to return to finals after missing last year. Keller is looking for early season success after the slow start of last year. Bell is looking for their first medal at this contest in a decade; Coppell is looking for their first medal at this contest ever! Aledo is on FIRE, but so is Wakeland! Waxahachie's show about a factory is somehow beautiful? Flower Mound is looking for their first regional win in 2 years, but Hebron is looking to threepeat! Timber Creek is looking for a good starting spot toward their medal venture in STL, and Argyle is looking for a good starting spot toward their finals venture at Grand Nats! Berkner would return to finals at this competition for the first time in 10 years, piggy-backing off their success from making state last year, and Keller Central is looking to prove they're still in the conversation! Rock Hill's woodwinds are stunning. Carroll is sooo fun this year! Azle would continue their success from BOA Prosper last year. And that's 17 bands--how could you choose 5 to miss finals?? Tubalord11
Mansfield Legacy-Filtered: Really great performance from Legacy to start the contest! For their size (plus missing members), they had a very present sound. Love how the used the see through silk over the soloist to represent the theme. Soloists were amazing, loved the trombone feature, drill and was pretty clean. Only went up to the ballad today. Great job Legacy! Tubalord11
Lovejoy-Locked away: Hello Lovejoy! Super proud alumni moment. Guard was Wow, so clean, excited to see how they do this season in WGI/NTCA. Great soloists, plenty of brass/WW features, some dirt musically, mainly brass, but if they clean they can definitely do well in the latter half of the season. Drill was really well executed, tons of ge throughout. Amazing performance Lovejoy, and GL at Wylie! JazzRun

Popular Post Tubalord11
Timber Creek-Blurrr: Fantastic performance from Timber Creek!! So many good things about this show. Drill was very clean, and guard was just top notch. Great use of field space, spreading out and coming together multiple times. Music was very clean, really strong woodwind section, Sax quartet during the ballad was so beautiful. Super strong brass presence, and just overall a really solid run, will definitely be seeing them tonight. Amazing job Falcon Band!!! Tubalord11
Southlake Carrol-Aquarium: SOUTHLAKE!!! They are NOT messing around today! Really great sounds from the WW small ensemble leading into the opening hit, they were great throughout. Brass was just unbelievably clean, holy smokes! Great stuff from the Trumpet soloists, guard and Perc were heard (and seen)! Such great prop usage, drill was very clean and effective, loved the fish 🐟 set. I’d be super surprised if we don’t see them tonight, but it’s too early to tell. Amazing job Dragon band!!! Popular Post Tubalord11
Flower Mound- textures and tones: Wow. Wow! Wow? I’m just shook by what I just saw. They probably winning today. GE is just off the charts. Guard just elevates the performance so much, love the wigs! Percussion, clean. Great stuff from the WW soloist/small ensemble. Brass was just beyond clean for this time of the season, such clean sounds from that trumpet sextet during the ballad WW’s ripping through their notes. Super cool uniform change, super effective and clean drill. They are going to have an incredible season, cant wait to see them again! Spectacular performance Flower Mound! dfwbandmom, angiewalkerfm, FloMoParent and 1 other
Tubalord11
L.D. Bell- Color Theory: Hello LD Bell!! Great opening statement! Really great ensemble sounds from the low brass and WW ensemble going into the opening hit. They are loud, but very clean! Really love the in-tanglement of the different pieces in the second movement. Great stuff from the horn and euphonium soloists in the ballad. Great usage of the props throughout, guard really amplified the GE. They are going to do amazing things this season, could definitely see them medaling next weekend, and maybe even here 🤷♂️ Either way, amazing performance blue raider band!! crunchycookie3

This is their first competition performance of the year, and if this is how they are starting their competition season, then they are a likely lock for a ticket to the UIL finals in San Antonio. slowbrass
I really dig flower mound’s show. It’s approachable on the surface level and still doesn’t feel overly simple or trope-y. To me it feels a lot closer to 15-19 than their post Covid shows have. All of those trademark flower mound musical and visual motifs are super effective this year. Tubalord11
Krum- time unwinding: Lovely performance Krum!!! I really don’t know how they haven’t made state yet, because they sound soooo good!!! High brass, so clean and crisps, those runs aren’t easy. Great stuff from soloists all around, tons of visual GE throughout. They do have some individual marching issues, but drill overall was clean. Love the dance break with the horn and guard member. They do a great job brining out the theme by going back to different parts or variations of the music. Super excited we’ll get to see them again tonight, crowd ate them up. Amazing job Krum!!! Band08
