I don’t think it’s much of bands getting wrongs scores to be honest. Every band did amazing today and gave it their all, just comparably some didn’t look quite up to others which is expected.

However that doesn’t mean a band or two can jump up and take spots in top 6!! It’s what finals is for!

Finals is by random draw so it’s not actually in top 6 bottom 6 like UIL state would be

Hebron just blows me away. Looking forward to Flo Mo as well. I love this board. I also post on another board but they seem to lean towards the Indiana bands. IMHO the twelve bands in this regional would top most of the other regional bands. So much talent in Texas.

Coppell - good lord what a blast at the beginning!  Great battery writing.  Excellent section features.  Cool trombone feature.  Great performance!

Coppell: First thoughts, guard members upside down! Amazing brass sound! The very first hit made my jaw drop! Excellent woodwind and brass technique. The brass playing backfield was beautiful! It sounded a little muddied by the lower brass in my opinion. The brass switching to trombones is super impressive AND they flipped them! What a show!

Flower Mound - I don’t know what I just watched but that belongs with the Bluecoats.  I mean that in the best way possible.  They are playing an extraordinary program to the fullest.  Outstanding performance!

Timber Creek - great stuff throughout.  Cody Fry’s Eleanor Rigby arrangement is a bold choice.  Great sound and a great performance!

Wakeland - really great clarity on the opening hit.  Excellent woodwind color throughout.  Great brass feature.  Excellent alto sax solo and altissimo a!  Incredible closer.  First Circle is always great to hear.  Great performance to close the competition!

Argyle - they defeated me and my band my senior year.  The opening hit proved why.  Good ensemble sound.  Great brass feature.  Excellent saxophone tradeoff.  Great bone solo in the ballad.  Impressive tuning between flute and piccolo.  Great closer and a great performance!

So many performances showing they wanted to place well, bands giving their all, it was just a magical night. Wow! What a close competition!! Congratulations to everyone who competed today, you all showed excellence and grit. I cannot wait to see how this impacts next week's BOA competition.

and that’s a wrap! im so beyond excited and happy by the events turned out today! i was extremely nervous going into this performance, but the crowd was AWESOME!

however, i will say this to forney: just know im proud of you guys. even if things didn’t go to way you guys wanted, believe me when i say the crowd loved you all. it was so awesome talking to you guys again, seeing your faces made me tear up a bit. i miss you all so so much, and just be proud with the work you put in today because the journey has only just begun. 

besides forney… LONE STAR?! im so shocked but i LOVE LOVE LOVE what ive seen so far (i will be rewatching this for years to come), and as i said to forney, be proud of the work today!

the rest of my thoughts will come in the morning, but imma get some shut eye after two performances today.

Honestly I believe that the judges were way too harsh on rock hill tonight but I’m glad to see that Wakeland is still good. I also believe that lone star could have been ranked higher than 7th but after all this is an opinion.

Congratulations to Hebron on getting the 3-peat!! Scores were super closed as expected, will be super tight between Flomo and Hebron all season long, and I'm guessing Marcus whenever they show up. Great stuff from TC, looking like a potential medalist at St Louis?? We'll see how they do next weekend, but I'm expecting a great season from them. Really excited to see how those that were here going to prosper do, will drop my final preds for that soon. Amazing job again to everyone, and thanks for the awesome day of performances!!
